New Year's Eve Restaurant Reservations?

My friend and I will be in the park Dec 31 and Jan 1 and are desperately trying to make New Year's reservations for dinner right now! :confused3 The problem is we aren't staying in a hotel in the park and weren't able to make reservations at most restaurants -- so I ended up choosing Silver Nugget Saloon (59 euro buffet).

Does anyone know what this will be like? Is it worth it? One of us is a vegetarian so we were hoping there would be a good selection.

I was really hoping to do Walt's or Blue Lagoon but since we can't make reservations I don't know what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions on getting into one of the fancier park restaurants that night, or is it impossible?

I have booked Walt's for 2pm on New Year's Eve. We will then grab munchies as the evening goes on. Even with AP discount I wasn't going to pay £120 + £30 for DD to eat at 8pm! :scared1:

Do you mean the Lucky Nugget? If so, the buffet there is OK and as I recall there are some vegi options. It is tex mex so there is plenty of chilli, fajitas, chicken etc. Someone who has been more recently than me can probably be more helpful.

Thanks for the replies! Lunch at walt's is a really good idea! Actually now I'm very confused because my friend was able to call them (I think a duff number -- probably the direct line for hotel guests making reservations ?) and reserve dinner at Aubergede! Is it a don't ask don't tell thing, I.e you can pretend to be a hotel guest? I'm really freaked out now though because she said it was 189 euro for the first service.. Which she booked and already paid with credit card?! Does anyone know if that was the right price and they really take your card # in advance?

That's probably correct for a NYE 'special' - I would have had to fork out £150+ in advance. However, reservations can be made by dialling +33 1 60 30 40 50. Wait for the preamble (first in french then English) and choose option 2. You do not pay in advance and can change them if required.popcorn::

You don't need to be a hotel guest to dine at Auberge, no matter the occasion, as far as I know. So I don't think you need to worry.
In case you don't already know, Auberge is a beautiful fine dining restaurant inside Fantasyland where the princesses and their princes interact and dance....I would love to eat there but nobody I go to DLP with would like the fine dining food except me! :lovestruc
it should be a beautiful meal on new years eve, I am not surprised that they would take the payment in advance as seats will be in great demand.
The usual price for Auberge would be about 60-70 euros so I imagine it would be even more for the new years meal and this would be the correct price.

Sounds exciting:lovestruc Am glad it's legit... although insanely expensive!
I wonder why the woman I spoke to on the phone told me I couldn't reserve anywhere but Lucky Nugget or Steakhouse. strange!

Perhaps when you phoned it was on the UK booking line which puts you through to Florida??? :confused3

We always book our meals on the number megrumpy gave which is the direct line to Dining Reservations in the park and like he said you book (up to 60 days in advance) and then pay at the restaurant. AFAIK they do make you pay upfront for the special Christmas Eve and NYE meals which are at a selection of restaurants and the price your friend is quoting sounds about right for a NYE evening meal. Auberge is a beautifully themed restaurant and I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time there.

Thanks! That is really weird though. I definitely called the number megrumpy quoted and the lady on the line was definitely French, she couldn't understand me very well so maybe that's where the misunderstandings came in. Anyway I am glad we were able to get reservations at Auberge... although I'm sure we'll have to eat only fast food the rest of the time we're there!:sad2:

The only restaurants in the main park that are doing the expensive NYE meals are: Walt's, Auberge de Cendrillon, Blue Lagoon and Colonel Hathi's (which is normally a CS). Apparently you have to book these 'special' meals through your hotel (that's what we were told).

We've booked a 6pm meal at Silver Spur Steakhouse.
