Thinking about going to Magic Kingdom for NYE... what time do you think it will reach capacity? I will be in Miami the night before and the earliest I can get to Disney is 11AM

If you are staying at a Disney resort, or you’re an AP holder or you have a reservation inside the MK, I wouldn’t worry about it.

You’ll probably be fine, but the phased closures do seem to happen between late morning and early to mid afternoon. They do seem to reopen to everyone by late afternoon though. If you’re concerned, you could always make an ADR.

Honestly, I’d be more worried about trying to get anywhere near one of the parks NYE by car. Traffic is bad.

This is Phase 1 closure info and if it describes your situation, purchase a park hopper and enter another park before heading to MK:

Casual visitors are turned away at the automobile toll plazas. This means that people without tickets, those with one-day, single-park tickets, and those intending to use cast member passes will not be allowed to park.

How is traffic around Disney Springs? We are doing the Grand Floridian cafe for breakfast and to look at the resort, then heading to a Disney Springs for a Raglan Rd dinner at 5

I’m not sure what traffic is like around DS. Maybe someone else will chime in.
We stay at POFQ, so we generally just take the boat when heading to DS ypthat time of year.

I have heard that traveling to MK resorts (like the Gf) could be really difficult. I am staying at Fort Wilderness and am really worried about traveling back from AK at 2pm for my afternoon break. Plan to bus to Epcot at 7pm but now not sure if I should just take the lengthy boat/monorail route to avoid the roads.

If you take a Minnie Van they will utilize back roads to get you toward WL -I have done that before

Traffic is bad that day ... really bad. Look at how long it normally takes you to get somewhere and add 1-2 hours So if you think you can get to the park by 11, it will probably be more like 12 or 1.

We use the resort buses to and from the parks all the time during Christmas week. We’ve seen lots of car traffic, but we’ve never experienced bus traffic. Sometimes they take alternate roundabout routes.

My main worry is NYE. I have traveled around WDW during Christmas week and expect traffic to move smoothly on all other days.

We head out NYE by resort bus (from either Pop or POFQ) between 4pm-7pm and head to Epcot. So far, it’s been smooth sailing for us.

Sweet! THANK YOU! I will try to stop stressing about it Bus from FW to Epcot is really our most straightforward route I figure most traffic is headed towards MK anyway lol and we will be headed away from MK.
