Hi there,

This is my first post, but I'm a long-time D-land goer. I've never been there on New Year's Eve before, and we're going this year since it's my husband's birthday! We are wanting to go as soon as it opens, then take a break, and come back for midnight. What time should we get there in the morning?

The park opens at 8Am on Dec 31st. To get there
as soon as it opens you should be there by at
least 8. 7:30AM might be even better.

StageTek is correct with opening times; however, NYE is argueably THE busiest day of the year at Disneyland. If there is a night that has a risk of the Park reaching capacity (and therefore not allowing people back in), NYE is it. You mentioned leaving and coming back. Know that with this plan, you risk not being able to re-enter, should the Park reach the point that they do not allow handstamped guests back in (the last level of closure).

Enjoy,
Dreams

hi We were at the Park last New Years Eve. It was absolute crazy busy. They had barriers everywhere and to get out of the cattle call you had to be part of a massive crowds with most people not wanting to move but save their spot for the fireworks. We were very hungry and had planned on dinner in the park, with our 3 teenagers but it took us from ther beginning of mainstreet to a small snack shop near Futurama to find some dinner. Then our choices were Chicken strips or fish nuggets. the pushing and shoving took about 1 hour to get something to eat, and then cost $75,00. I would not recommend Disneyland on NYE.

We entered the park in the morning left around 2:00pm and returned at 4. we were told if you had a stamp you would be guarenteed re-entry.

From what I've read about NYE, you're very likely going to need to cancel the plans to leave for a break...unless you're cool spending the countdown at the resort.

Having a stamp doesn't get you anything if the park is absolutely closed to capacity. If the full number of people are there, no one is getting in until people come out...and that's fairly unlikely the later the day goes.

I'm glad you were able to do it, though! Lucky!
