Other than SSR, do any of the other DVC resorts host a party?

I don't have the answer, but thanks for posting. I've been wondering the same:goodvibes. Never really thought about doing NY's at Dis, but after reading about the plans at SSR, it sounded like fun.

I admit, it's the reports of SSR's party that has us planning next NYE. I was happy to learn that MK for instance, has fireworks on 2 nights, so it would be possible to see those and also the ones over by SSR.

We don't own at SSR. I'm just paraphrasing what people here seem to be saying, joining that party is like pool hopping and wouldn't be allowed. So, do we just wait until 7 months out to book SSR, or is BWV another good place to be. For Halloween, BWV was THE place, the party at the boardwalk was fun, and there wasn't any problems in going to it. We were staying at VWL and the switchboard gave us the information.

I did notice that they must have had a party with music on the lawn at BWV. We spent the night at Jellyrolls so it was over by the time we came out. I did hear the boardwalk was very lively that night. Susan

We do have ownership in SSR, but also OKW. So when I started reading the party plans I wondered if they do something like that at the other resorts. It sounded like a fun way to spend NY's. From reading the boards, I know that there is a bunch of people that spend Thanksgiving at HH and do a get together the Wed. evening before. Everyone brings a appitizer, drinks etc. I don't know if you have to have ownership or be staying at SSR. Reading the thread I notice a few post of people not staying at SSR but saying they would be there (I think they are SSR owners). I would think that it would be one or the other. I guess if people were staying at other DVC resort's they could try to organize such a event:confused3. The advantage of SSR would be the view for the fireworks!!

It would be nice if they did...The parks on New Year's Eve are too crowded to really enjoy. We were at EPCOT New Year's Eve and it was difficult to maneauver around. The fireworks and other New Year's Eve festivities were nice, but difficult to enjoy due to the crowds.

We'll be at our resort next New Year's Eve, so I'm hopeful the DVC resorts will have some sort of celebration.

We were at wdw for NYE 2003-4 and we went to MGM in the am(parked there) and then went to epcot for dinner adr in Japan. It started to pour while we were eating and as we exited(in ankle high puddles), many of the ourdoor venues were cancelled we decided to take boat back to MGM and go back to OKW. DS and I were soaked and freezing so we got off at BW and DH went on to get car and pick us up there. when we entered the loby of BW they had clowns, magicians and noisemaker/hats for those in the lobby. Don't know if it was usual or just because of the rain. Lots of folks were about enjoying it.

I believe at BWV there is a NYE party at ATLANTIC DANCE HALL
