Hi everyone,

Our family has a Disney cruise booked for Jan. 2, and we decided to do a couple days at Universal beforehand since we already have the airfare booked. Of course, it happens to be on two of the busiest days of the year!

Here's our situation. We have passes to IOA (with 10 free 1-ride express vouchers) for Dec. 31st, and two-park passes for Jan. 1st (with the regular express pass). We are staying at Cabana Bay and have early admission. All of our tickets (except the express passes on the 1st) were comped, so I am totally OK with going for a while and then bailing when it becomes a madhouse.

My question is, if we take advantage of early admission, how long do you think we'll have on each day before it becomes wall-to-wall people? Particularly NYE, when we only have a few express passes. Thanks for you help, I like to have a plan for theme parks but I haven't been to Universal in 30 years!

I was able to get Mythos reservation for the 31st last week. What I could not get was hotel reservations without paying with an arm and a let. Cabana was almost $300 a night! I am hoping most people will be at the clubs, hotels, etc. Universal is open til midnight and IOA closes I believe at 10. I think you will be able to get on rides with your vouchers. They may not be good for Harry Potter so do those in the morning. Supposed to pour on the 1st.
