Has anyone been on DCL during New Years Eve? Does Disney do anything different? Is it worth the cost?

Hi! We did the 4 day - Dec. 31, 2003 cruise and it was GREAT!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We boarded the cruise on New Year's Eve day. All cabins recieved a special signed and numbered lithograph print that was especially made for that cruise.

The champagne and sparkling cider was flowing at midnight plus they had special plastic champagne glasses that had DCL and the date on them. It was very festive and we really enjoyed ourselves.

The Christmas Decorations were still up on the ship and at CC - that was very special.

The cruise was as much as a 7day cruise - 2 adults plus 12yr.old with a porthole - and we did enjoy it - but I don't think I will do another New Year's Eve cruise. We are homebodies at the holidays and like staying home.

It was wonderful and I'm glad we did it - it was different. If you can afford to go - GO - you will never forget it!!

Hope this helps!!

Yes, yes, and YOU BET!

We were on the NYE 2003 cruise (4-day Wonder). Extras - well it was our first disney cruise but we did receive a NYE lithograph in our room on NYE (Goofy was father time). NY day we recieved a nice DCL paperweight that said NYE 2003 and had the DCL logo on it. Some yummy foiled chocolates appeared in our room NYE too.

TONS of NYE parties and a special dinner. Dave posted our navagators and the NYE menu on his site.

Expensive?? We felt like we got what we paid for. DH kept thanking me for planning the cruise :-)

We went on the 4-day Wonder New Year's Eve cruise. What a wonderful trip!

A special dinner was served in all dining rooms. Most men wore a tux, although many also wore suits. Most women wore cocktail dresses.

There was a family party in the atrium which was unbelievable. They set up two huge screens on which they broadcasted events going on all over the ship. Disney served complimentary champagne and sparkeling cider as well as finger food. I was worried that it would be too kiddie, but I was proven wrong. Music was playing, people were dancing. It felt like an upscale celebration. There were special parties in most of the bars as well.

At midnight, they dropped balloons and confetti. Disney also distributed a lithograph, special chocolates, and champagne glasses to all of the cabins. It was my favorite New Year's Eve to date. I can't recommend it highly enough.
