New Year's Eve at VWL?

We've been at WDW for Christmas several times but only once for New Year's Eve. We pooped out long before the clock struck 12 and decided the park scene wasn't for us. Could anyone tell me what, if anything, goes on at the Lodge on New Years? Do folks congregate in the lobby at all? Any input would be appreciated!

I was there last New Years. There were Afew people on the beach. I didn't go through the lobby so I'm not sure about that. You could see the fireworks at MK. Nice if you just want a quiet night.
