New Years Eve ADR's?

hello.

We will only arrive on the 31st and so far are not making any park plans however my Mum really wants Chef Mickey for New Years Eve dinner.
I am worried she is getting her hopes up.
(I want 1900 Park Fare. Lol but realist in me tells me that we will get room service at POFQ instead lol)

Since we only arrive on the 31st many will have had 10 days before us to book New years Eve.

Truth. What are the chances she can get Chef Mickey?

She is staying at Contemporary so she can just walk down whenever.

Not sure if it will be her and my sister in law or her and 5 others or all 12 of us (who are all more than willing to sit at separate tables if need be)

I think you have a decent chance of booking CM's on New Year's Eve if you book it 180 days out. We booked an ADR in Epcot for NYE in October. There was still availability at a variety of places outside the parks two months out.

You can also try the Touring Plans reservation finder, if you can't get it on your ADR day. We didn't arrive until 12/27/16, so a little close to NYE. I was able to get everything I wanted, except for the exact time I wanted at California Grill. I wanted a half hour later. I ended up getting it with the ADR finder. I did book at 6am WDW time on my ADR day though.

I think that you will be okay with CM or 1900 PF if you are not picky about the times available.

I also think that you will have more choices than room service. At 180 days out, I would try to book CM at any time available unless it is really not going to work. Keep looking for a time that better suits you if your ADR is not what you want.

If there are no times that you can make work, book your second choice, and I think you should have a backup in mind. After that, you know you have a place to eat on a busy night, and then you can relax and look for what you really want.

There should be openings as people tweak their plans for their trips.

Not sure about CM, but we got 1900 PF this past New Years Eve.. and we arrived on the 31st as well. I think our reservation was for 830..(I think).. 1900 was great.. we were able to walk out by the water and watch the Fireworks before our dinner.. then we were able to watch some of the MOVIE (I think it was Nemo) being played out on the lawn.. after our dinner...

We were also at WDW on New Years EVE 2015/2016 at MK... Being at the Grand Floridian during fireworks was 1000 times better, IMO.. you simply could not move at MK.. ugh! wont do that again!
