Hi all! I'm a born-and-raised Disney girl (20+ times in 27 years!) and have pretty much experienced any and all seasons/celebrations at Disney, except one. New Year's Eve. And I'm not ashamed to say it - I'm scared!! :sad2:

We (my mother and I) are those people who are like - we're visiting relatives in Florida.. And I mean, how can we be in Florida and NOT do Disney?? So we decided to tack on a couple extra days at the back of our trip to have some New Year's magic to start off the year.

We have to plan our day around our reservations - Lunch at Rose&Crown in Epcot (yeah, so excited for the Cider and Black!) and dinner at the MK at Tortuga Tavern for the Caribbean buffet. (And a serious thank you to the cast member who made that possible after discovering that basically EVERYTHING was completely booked.)

Now, I'm more than a little nervous that we're not going to be able to get into MK after lunch. Since we have hoppers and a dinner res, we, in theory, *should* be able to get in even after they phase up, but it's obviously not a guarantee..

And… Alllllllll the people. Oh, my. :crazy2:

We're coming back at the end of January, staying at the Wilderness Lodge, so any and everything we love and will miss (which will be pretty much everything, because of the crowds, travel-time to hop, reservations, etc) will be caught up on then. Btw, January is an AMAZING time to visit.

So, any tips/tricks from any seasoned-Disney-NYE'ers for 2 Disney-loving adults? Thanks!! Happy Holidays!!!

I'm a first time NYE person too! My sister and her family (husband and 10year old son) have agreed to join me in the insanity!!
We are not staying on property though. (Staying at that "other" place.... Since they are APs there and got a discount) our plan is HS on the 30th and MK for NYE.
I considered making ADRs at a monorail resort for lunch, but I don't want to risk them not being able to get in. I am an AP, so I can get in at most levels of closing, but they are just regular tickets.

Bonus, we are not in fp+ so at least I know the system and can plan well for our time!

That's awesome! I'm really excited for the celebrations, but still really nervous about the crowds and hopping..

I am seriously thinking of going. I only live 2 hours away and also am an AP holder. But I get off at 6 NYE. SO yea. I dunno lol
