Hi all. I have a question that may be kind of stupid. I just found out I will be in Orlando over New Years Eve. I would like to show my family Disney fireworks, without having to go into a park that night. My grandma wouldn't be able to handle the crowds.

My question is, could we come on property to eat at one of the resort's restaurants, and then stay at the resort to see the fireworks from afar. We would obviously want to pick a restaurant with a good view of fireworks. Is this possible? Is it crazy? Would we even get a reservation this late? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Edited to add: We would take a late ADR, which may give us a better chance of getting in. Maybe.

Call tomorrow morning and see what you can get. Ohanas may have something. I'd guess that Narcoossee's and California Grill would not be possible at this point - but it never hurts to ask. Good luck :wizard:

I'm hoping for something cheaper, so Ohanas would be better. Do you think we could see the MK fireworks well from the beach at Polynesian, I've never watched them from there. Would the beach be incredibly crowded?

We ate at the Poly last July 4th and then watched the fireworks from the beach, and I'd guess that the crowds would be comparable to New Years Eve. Yes, it was crowded, but there was still plenty of space for everyone and I'm sure it was absolutely nothing compared to the crowds at the MK. Your problem may be getting a dining reservation... And when we were there July 4th, they were checking your dining reservation before letting anyone in to the parking lot. Not sure what would have happened if we'd been "just visiting" without a dining reservation. Also, there was a pretty long line of cars getting into the parking lot, and it probably took us at least 15-20 minutes in line at the guard's gate to get into the parking lot, so allow extra time to get there.

Thanks for your reply. I am going to try and get a reservation tomorrow, we'll see how that goes. We would plan on arriving in the later afternoon probably. Do you think they won't let us in if we're "too" early?

Hope you get your reservation! I think you'd be OK arriving early and just telling them you want to visit the resort before dinner.

Don't forget that WDW also has fireworks on New Years Eve at DTD and Epcot, so you have many other dining options, than just the MK resorts. You can see the Epcot fireworks from the bridges in the BW area.

BTW we ate at Spoodles last weekend and it was very very good

Last time that we were at Epcot on NYE we could watch both Epcot and HS at the same time. I would imagine if you ate at the Beach Club and watched the fireworks on the beach the view should be amazing.

We are going for the 4th xmas week in a row and this year, we are probably not going to a park (if we do it is DHS for the morning/early afternoon. We have dinner reservations at the yacht club and plan to watch the epcot fireworks (the high ones) and DHS from the beach area, then beat the crowds back to OKW(we will park at YCbecause we have adr).
