New Women's Cut Shirt Sizing

So, I see that Disney has decided to add a women's cut shirt option for their races. I assume the main difference is that the body has some curve to it instead of being straight down. Anyone?

I'm trying to figure out the sizing before Marathon Weekend registration. After a bad guess my first year (no measurement guidance available), I figured out that the XS unisex size shirt was what I needed. But that option no longer exists to order or compare the measurements. I measured my husband's M, but the chest measurement is more like a large (more confusion). Has anybody out there seen or worn a Women's Cut Long-Sleeved Champion Tech Shirt that can advise?

Thanks,

Cami

I found them to run pretty consistently with most women's cut tech shirts which is to say, fairly slim cut versus a regular shirt size. I wear about a size 8-10 in clothing and I usually get a medium in a women's cut. If I'm fluctuating in weight and I'm closer to a 10, then the medium fits me a bit more snugly then I'd like. :) If I'm closer to an 8, then I like the fit of a medium.

I'd think if you were wearing an extra small in the unisex, you might want a small in the women's. If you like your tech shirts a bit baggy, then maybe a medium.

Oh, the other difference in the women's shirt versus the unisex is that it has a v-neck. I prefer this and it's not a deep V.

I can offer an example from the PHM this year. I have a size S unisex cut tech shirt from the DL 10K in size small and it's huge on me. For the PHM, I ordered an XS in the women's cut and it's perfect. I usually wear XS (size 0) and this fit like an XS. I traded in my size S 5K shirt for a kids' size L. So I thought the women's cut was not just a different cut, but smaller and more true to size.

Thanks! Very helpful. I think I'll like the v-neck. The crew neck on the unisex model feels a little tight to me.

They run pretty true to size in terms of chest. But Champion shirts are short on me. I'm a women's medium and I have been ordering men's S and they fit great. I would guess if a men's XS fits you well, then a women's S would fit you.

The women did get the cut they've been requesting for awhile now but both men's and women's shirts from marathon weekend are different from last year. The actual tech fabric is different and this year they didn't have that white noticeable stitching on it.

I have a unisex S from 2013 marathon and a women's cut M from 2014 marathon. They fit just the way I like - not tight not baggy. i love the new women's cut. Looks tailored without being too tight. I wear about an 8 usually. I probably could have got away with sizing down but I'm glad I didn't.

Ditto what's been said - I find the women's cut shirts to be more fitted, but not skin-tight. FWIW, I wear a 0-2 on top and the XS is just about perfect, only slightly long all over (I'm 5'1"). Comparatively, the unisex XS I got from TOT is gigantic - totally unwearable.

There was an oddity in the PHM/Enchanted10K/Glass Slipper Challenge shirts this year - the necks of mine are all tight and seem to pull up weirdly. But my 2013 PHM and 2014 WDW 1/2 shirts are fine, despite seeming to be the exact same pattern/cut. :confused3

What everyone else said. I'd always go smaller and you can trade up. The XS seem to go first for size exchange (probably because they don't order as many). I ordered a medium for marathon weekend and could've gotten a small. I'm a 4 on top.

My TOT shirt is ridiculous. It's a small, but I swear it could fit my size large husband.

This is all great information to share. I have wondered for many-a-race what shirt sizes to order. I have finally found the formula that works for me (at least until the shirt sourcing/styles change).

I am 5'7", medium skeleton, low volume torso, but medium up top: my shirt recipe for both east and west coast runDisney races is a size Small for both unisex 5K shirts and women's-cut short sleeve and long sleeve shirts. They are not tight anywhere, and the shirt and sleeve lengths are fine. I can comfortably wear a thermal underneath.
