here is the item from the DVC email

"Member Clubhouse has learned that the Member event scheduled for this fall will invite Members to mix and mingle with their Disney neighbors through exclusive champagne brunches at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa during the Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival.

The brunches will take place on select Sundays in late October and early November.

Watch your e-mail inbox for an official announcement and booking information in the weeks ahead, and look for updates at www.dvcmember.com as new details become available."

Okay I don't understand why it is being held at the GFR.

I understand alot of members like this resort. but I feel very, very uncomfortable here. do others? or does everyone love the GF?

and I am just :earseek:

I suspect it's an availability thing. Ther was room there so... It does seem strange that it wouldn't be closer to the F&W stuff at Epcot though.

I don't like the GF, but I don't feel uncomfortable there.

I stayed there once and really expected first class service (like at Ritz or Four Season) I got "All Star" service delivered much more resentfully then at the All Stars.

However, they have some of the BEST chefs on property there so I bet the food is good at this event. If they hold it on my Sunday I am going to try and sign up.

I'm okay there. Madam Gracey and I try to get over there for dinner at least once every couple trips.
If we get the chance, we will likely do it.

Thanx for the info... :drinking:

I'm looking forward to the brunch! DW and I had a wonderful time on our 25th anniversary trip to GF last year.

We actually love dining at the GF and usually have at least a couple meals there each trip. We love Citricos, Narcoossee's and Grand Floridian Cafe. I also love V&A but we do not do that every trip.

Anyway, I think it sounds interesting. However, we'll probably miss it as our trip is mid October.

okay I am the odd ball. Does that surprise anybody? ;)

as much as I would like a DVC wine tasting - I don't like the GF. So I won't go.

it is nice that DVC members will be invited.

I don't know why this can't be held at the BW.

What about hosting this at the VERY EMPTY Ariel's on BC property? That place is always available. Of all our trips, I only saw it occupied one evening for a private function.

Seems like a waste to have a DVC event at a non-DVC resort. Unless of course some kind of announcement is going to be made about building DVC at GF?!? Wait - that is for the roomer board...

I started to post that, but really didn't want to hear about how much better it would be have the DVC at the CR...

As to having it at Ariel's... that space is pretty small. That would then lead to the "they only let 10 of us come posts" LOL

Now, I guess they could have done something at the YC Convention Center, but that may easily be booked up by conventions. Plus if your read the listing of Food/Wine events they are really booking things up this year. If they had it at Epcot then you would need park admission in addition to the brunch fee.

No matter where they have it there will be at least some people who are unhappy....(I always wonder why they even open themselves up to this.... they don't have to do these events and when they do I am sure they get so much grief....)

What about the green where the merry mixer is held? At least that would be near a DVC property and close to the F&W.

After a couple of glasses I'm going to be VERY comfortable at the GF.

I'm just glad they are finally doing something in the Fall, so I can hopefully attend....we never go in the summer, so we miss the summer events!

give me a good glass of wine and I don't care if it is in the parking lot. ;)

GF fits my comfort zone perfectly!!
But I agree with sheryl0521--Ariels would be a great spot.
