We are finally putting in new windows. We are definately doing Impact as we are in s S Fla. I am wondering if anyone who has put in the impact with low E and Agon, or just Low E(solarban) what are your thoughts on the energy savings, or even just the feel of the home. Can you feel the difference?

We have the old awning windows, which I love because they open all the way and then we also the screens have alarms so I dont nee to worry about shutting the entire house if running out. However, I can no longer get them here , not up to the hurricane code. Appently a number of the bedrooms have to have the side/horizontal slide kind.

Now it is deciding-reg impact, low E impact or low e with argon gas impact.

Any imput or thoughts on this is very appreciated.

We have low-e, argon gas filled windows in our new construction home. I think it's pretty much the standard these days. It was not an upgrade for us.
All I can really say about our windows is that when you stand right in front of them you don't feel too much heat (just a little) magnifying through. We've had a ton of strong winds and there is no air movement around the windows and no ice cold feeling when it's cold out. Our windows are just lower-to-mid quality I think but are great and seem energy efficient.
