I think I saw somewhere that there is supposed to be a new water ride at Typhoon Lagoon. Does anyone know more details, like when it is supposed to be built??

Thanks,

Pam

A CM told me in Feb it is a new "coaster" ride. That is all I know. -- Oh and that it looks Tall from the road.

It's a "water coaster". It's a water slide, but the water in it has a higher pressure, so the trip isn't just down; it has little hills as well....

We're going in MAY hope it's open,it will be our first trip to TL so it will all be new to us :flower: :sunny: :earsboy:

When does the new ride open???

Here's the message from allears.net. My DD and I were very excited when we read this today!!!!

Typhoon Lagoon is closed for its annual rehab
December 12, 2004 through March 12, 2005.
When it reopens, it will unveil a brand new attraction.
Crush 'N' Gusher, a white-knuckle water coaster thrill ride,
will send you along a series of flumes and spillways
through a rusted-out tropical fruit facility.
You'll be able to choose from three different routes,
Banana Blaster, Coconut Crusher and Pineapple Plunger,
each ranging between 410 and 420 feet in length.

Thanks, glad to know it will be open this year. It sounds similar to the blaster water ride at the "Schlitterbahn" in Texas. Awesome water park and that particular ride is great. It will be interesting to hear reports from the first riders.

We'll be there in just over a week, arriving the day after TL reopens!!!! I'll post a review as soon as we return.

Crush N' Gusher is set to open with the park on March 13th, although there are cast previews the 9th and 12th. It is the same type of ride as in Texas and contains 3 different slides. I love the theming for this ride.

The tubes are all two persons tubes with the option of going as a single or double rider. (Cast members are testing a triple tube, but as of yet, it's too wild of a ride for that with the public.) Riders must be 48" tall to ride.

Coconut Crusher so far is my personal favorite to ride with Banana Blaster as a close second. Pineapple Plunger is the wetest of the 3.

Oh yeah, don't forget to be on the lookout for Typhoon's second hidden mickey at the new ride. The original one is in the kiddie area.

It is actually built by the same people as "Schlitterbahn" in Texas. This one will have 3 tracks. Can't wait to try it out!!!

This will be a great addition to Typhoon Lagoon. We went to both water parks last summer and we liked both parks, but since our kids aren't thrill riders, Tyhoon seemed to be the favorite. Don't know if it will be warm enough when we go in December this year, but we will definitely hit this next summer when we go.
