thanks:flower3:

To "switch over" you would have to call and cancel your Jambo house reservation and make a new Kidani reservation. All members should be able to use the amenities at both locations as long as you are staying on points.

Kidani is just across the Sunset savanna from Jambo. There is a walking path on the parking lot side of both buildings. It looks like quite a ways on the map, but it really isn't.

In recent picture posts the distance btwn the two doesn't look bad at all. The way people were talking it was miles away. I am imagining a bus will go to both - maybe not an internal bus but a park bus? Anyone know.

If you have a 1 bedroom or larger, I would definitely move over, the Kidani rooms are bigger. For a studio, they are about the same size. I recently booked a studio June 14 to 20 and chose Kidani, just to see what the new building is like.

I thought I read that the connecting path was one half mile long?

Visually, looking across from one building to the other they are not that far apart but when people talk about 1/2 mile, they are referring to the walking distance between the main entrances of the two buildings. Also, if walking from Jambo to the Kidani pool, you need to add on the distance from your room to the entrance of Jambo and the fact that the Kidani pool is a little ways beyond the entrance to the Kidani building so that could make it 3/4 of a mile in some cases.

The photo jblrn2b is referring to was taken from the end of the Kudu Trail in Jambo and shows the end of the Kidani building and as stated, they aren't that far apart as the crow flies. But if you were to walk from where the photographer was standing to the part of Kidani that is pictured, the yellow line on this drawing shows how you would have to do it, and that's where the estimates of 1/2 - 3/4 mile come in because you have to walk all the way around the Sunset Savanna and along the outside of the buildings:

Will the parking be all in front of Jambo? I thought Kidani would have its own parking lot.

Much of the parking is underneath the new building.

Looking at the picture makes me realize there is a good chance you can be far away from both pool locations. I didn't realize that. What sections will be completed first? Should I request a location near the pool?

To the OP, getting the reservation at Kidani Village may be difficult. I know we tried at exactly 7 months to get the end of May, beginning of June and it wasn't available for all the nights we needed. Like Diane said, you'd have to cancel the first and rebook the second. And if you are not the member, the member would have to do this.

I booked a studio and a 2 bedroom at Kidani with a SV for 6/28-7/6 last Monday. I didn't have any problems with availability...maybe I just got lucky! Give it a try! :thumbsup2

I booked a dedicated 2 bedroom savanah view for May 13-20 with no problem what so ever at the 7 month mark. Call as soon as member services open. You will stand a better chance I have found. Also if you are in a different time zone than Orlando don't forget to add or subtract the difference for that zone.

Just to give some a frame of reference. That 3/4 of a mile is about the same as the walk around crescent lake (The Boardwalk). That's a long walk and technically the round trip at Kidani would be like walking the Boardwalk twice!. Three cheers to DVD for setting up Kidani with dining choices.
