Hi all,
I have been watching this board for a while and finally registered. What a great site!
Anyways, my DW and I are taking our 7 year old DD the week of August 15th. This will be our first family vacation without either of our parents since we were in Disney in 1996. It's about time!
Anyways, my DD has been when she was 5 1/2 for 1 and half days (when we were visiting my parents in WPB), and for a week with my in-laws when she was about 4 1/2. So this will be a big trip for her as she is now over the 48" height mark and can ride everything. She is soooo excited for Space Mountain (and hopefully Rockin RC too). Incidentally, I don't have reservations about her going on RRC if she wants to, even in light of the Mission Space thing. I think that there may have been some other condition going on there, and maybe the height limit wasn't high enough. Regardless....
We are very excited....
We are staying at PO Riverside in the Magnolia Bend section. We've already booked all of our Priority seatings for dinners. We're doing Crystal Palace on our arrival day, followed by dinners "close to home" Tu-Thurs to aid in the rest and relaxation (after afternoon swim/naps). If my daughter has the energy, we can always head out after dinner for a while. We finish with dinner on our last evening at Hollywood and Vine with the Fantasmic Package at 4:30. This will give us more time for rides before lining up 30 min. prior.
The hard part will be balancing the things my daughter has done and wants to do again with the things she wasn't able to do previously that we know she will want to do. My wife and I will likely suggest the new stuff first with revisits of the old stuff as time permits.
I would gladly get up at the crack of dawn to get to parks pre-opening, but neither of my girls will want to do that. We are going to try and make this Disney vacation as relaxing as a Disney vacation can be, even if that means we end up with some longer lines and missing some rides.
I just cannot wait!
