Disney raised ticket prices today and has changed their acceptance of the Disney Club card for ticket discounts. These will NOT be honored at the parks, resorts or FL TDS locations, but will be honored at other TDS and for online transactions.

I had a discussion with 2 CMs this morning as I was leaving BCV. There does seem to be some confusion among CMs (even at a DVC resort) about the new discount policy as it relates to the DVC Member's discount on Ultimate Park Hopper passes.

The first CM I spoke with at BCV stated that they would not honor ANY discounts at the resort- even the DVC 10% discount. SHe went on to state that the discount was available only when purchased in advance. I asked her how a DVC would do that and she said she didn't know. I thanked her and went to the next station at the front desk.

This CM began to say the same thing and I reiterated that my question was specific to the DVC Member discount which has always been available only at DVC resorts. He then said that the DVC Member's discount would still be honored.

If you are denied the discount at the desk, I would urge you to ask to speak with a supervisor- unless/until DVC sends us and/or posts on the Member's website some information to the contrary.

Here are the new UPH rates. 6% FL sales tax is NOT included and the 10% Member's discount also needs to be deducted. Adults prices are for those 10 and over. Child prices are for those 3-9.

Thanks Doc!

I have a UMP question? Do my guests get the 10% discount. I have the reservation in their name, but I will be with them when they check in. I already have an AP so I don't need tickets, but based on my friends overly ambitious plans for her four day stay I think UMPs are the way to go! I did not rent the points so I would think they would be entitled to the discount, but the room charges etc. will not be on my credit card!

Yes, your guests should get the DVC discount. That has always been the policy in the past.

Enjoy!

The new rates began at 12:01am on Sunday, September 8, 2002.

Just received paperwork for our BCV add on and decided to try and read and understand some of it ;)

The member benefits guide book states that " DVC members and their guest may elect to purchase WDW UPH tickets at a 10 % discount off the resort guest price."

"The prices of the UPH are determined, and may be adjusted at any time without notice, by WDW ..... The price of the UPH which the discount will be based on for DVC members will be the current resort guest price as of the date of check-in at OKW, BWV, VWL or BCV's"

So even the latest paperwork says that DVCers should still get a discount although I suspect that there will be a disclaimer somewhere that these benefits can be withdrawn at anytime. ;)

Now ... sign at the ears and date at the palm trees .... :D

UMP= Ultimate Magic Pass and is one of the many names used for what is now UPH (Ultimate Park Hopper).

Disney has often changed the name of these passes- it was originally called LOS (length of stay), went to UMP and now UPH.

Stay Tuned!

I am a new dvc'er and have just joined Disney Club to get reduced rate for 5 and 7-day passes (the ones with non expiring days. So, if I can't get them at OKW, where can I get the passes?

Reportedly, you can get the passes at The Disney Store, online at Disney.com and by phone thru CRO.

You may want to check on the Theme Parks Board. They have some ongoing discussions there about the new policy.

Good Luck!
