New Universal Water/Light show

Does anyone know when Universal will debut their new Water/Light show? I've heard Spring 2012, but that's a big window. Perhaps by Spring Break? We'll be there March 31st - April 4th, and would love to see the new show.

I'd also like to know how late into the summer they will be having the show. We will be there August 13th to the 16th and this show looks wonderful. I would truly hate to miss it. I know last year we were there the last week of August and they were not doing the nighttime show.

Tough to say. They have been testing it but at the same time they are still improving their viewing areas. So, it looks like it will be soon, but how soon is not clear. You'll probably get to see it during your August trip. Not sure if it will just be a weekend thing by then or what their plan is.

from what i have read, if the park has extended hours and it is dark, very likely those are the nights the light show will be performed.

My guess is around or after the end of Mardi Gras, so the OP may be out of luck.

As for how late the show will run, it is expected to run EVERY night until the end of summer (probably around Labor Day), and then on select nights (i.e. Fridays and Saturdays) until the Holidays when it will run every night.

We will be there on May 21 and 22, so I hope it's going on then. But, I have a feeling it may not start until Memorial weekend.

I live close enough to hear and see the fireworks, they have tested the fireworks twice tonight, and the previous two nights one time. Before that once or twice during the week the last few week, so it seems they are fairly close.

It may happen for the peak of spring break around Easter (ie next week, excluding Mardi Gras nights). Anytime the park is open until 9 or later would be my best guess.

If they are saying spring, remember that they announced that the WWoHP would open in Spring 2010, and the Grand Opening was June 18 or 19 (forget which it was). Spring officially does not end until June 21, so it could be any time until then.
