I think that the entire cast should be recast, but whatever.
Yeah..she was just emotionless throughout the entire movie, and it was supposed to be passionate and stuff. It annoyed me.
And OMG!! That's hospital scene! W-what? n-no! y-y-y NO! don't..no! y-you can't! NO uhh..no..eehhh...dont say that! NO!I have never laughed to hard in my life!! And, worst yet, even when she was saying all that I felt no emotion from her!
I think Kristen Stewart is the perfect Bella. I mean sure, in real life she seems like a real snob...but as long as she can play the part then that's fine.
I agree with you! Especially about the clothing, and maybe Edward could have talked a little more like he did in the book, it didn't seem like he spoke from another tim...I really am torn, about Kristen Stewart. As a person I think she's adorable. I love her grunge/chic mix of a style, and how she hardly knew what Chanel was until recently.
I thought of Bella as having a really soft face, with large dark eyes, and medium-length straight hair. She really defined average. I also thought of her having a relatively soft voice. Kristen, has a very defined face, with green eyes (contacts were used, and the colour was not very pretty), and the wig she wore was a little too "professional hair stylist" to be Bella. The acting, regardless of appearance, wasn't great but wasn't horrible. I didn't really think she should be portayed as super expressive, but now looking back I'm thinking "Wow..She is in a house of VAMPIRES..she's completely in awe and curious about everything" and Kristen was very straight faced about everything. I could see Bella walking into the Cullens, her eyes 10in wide, and just absolutely CAPTIVATED at what she saw.
The way she interacted with Edward really wasn't right, either. It's supposed to be typical "first love". You know, doodling his name all over your notebook, making huge efforts just to get a glimpse of him everyday..etc. And Bella was just.. "I came to school. He never came"(refering to after their meeting in Bio- the narration in the movie) I kept thinking of what Renee says in eclipse, "Theres something strange about the way you two are together. The way he watches you its so protective. Like hes about to throw himself in front of a bullet to save you or something. Hes very intense about you and very careful. I feel like I dont really understand your relationship. Like theres some secret Im missing The way you move you orient yourself around him without even thinking about it. When he moves, even a little bit, you adjust your position at the same time. Like magnets or gravity. Youre like a satellite, or something"
This is SO perfect to how they should have acted, once they began to fall in love. I didn't see ANY of this...![]()
I can't act for squat, but I think I could have played Bella better..
The thing that made the book so intriguing for me, was that I couldn't exactly grasp WHAT exactly was with the two of them, but there was this invisible force drawing them to each other, and I pictured it so vividly, and the movie was just..
"Hi. I'm Edward Cullen. You're Bella. I'm gonna go puke now, k?"
He doesn't seem too "drawn" to her like he is after their first meet!![]()
The only three seconds of the movie I think they portayed a *little* more of how I saw it, was the "stupid lamb, sick masochistic lion" part, where she's backed up against the mountain(?) and his arms have her kind of locked in. The tension there is more of how the books ar portayed, I think.
I thought that everyone else did really really really really well, though! Alice, Victoria, and Rose were my favourite's. Ashley did a great job "dancing" instead of walking, and she was definitely a porsche-stealing pixie! Victoria was definitely the bad-... witch I saw her, and I loved that. I pictured her hair as FIERY red, though.. That's the only thing I would have changed about Victoria. Rose did great too. She was intimidating, and beautiful, and walked with the confidence that her character should. The rest of the Cullens/Hale's did great, despite people hating Jasper's role. (HELLO?! Yea, he looks like he's in pain- HE IS! And his head of hair fits the era, and it's adorable)
I pictured Edward, (now granted, I saw the movie promo's before I read..) but I pictured him as a very proper guy. I DEFINITELY saw him as someone right out of Anne of Green Gables! Hardwicke(gag) based him off of James Dean, and said "If this movie took place several decades ago, he would have been a biker from the wrong side of the tracks" Umm..WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM BEING "That boy"... "If I had found you, there isnt a doubt in my mind how I would have proceeded. I was that boy, who would have as soon as I discovered that you were what I was looking for gotten down on one knee and endeavored to secure your hand. I would have wanted you for eternity, even when the word didnt have quite the same connotations." and even "I supposed its a little outdated. Old-fashioned, just like me."

As adorable as he is here... James Dean does NOT = Edward Cullen

I would have loved for him to have incorporated older clothes into his wardrobe..I mean he DID wear a tan sweater with a white collared shirt underneath in Twilight(I believe it was Twilight, because him and Bella matched) and that would have been so so cute! This, is a bit more how he is portayed in the books...or at least how I saw him..

Ohmygosh! Yes. Absolutely.
I watched P&P just last night and the way Darcy acted was almost exactly how I pictured Edward to be. Love that movie.
Anyway, there's this guy in a deoderant commercial. He looks EXACTLY how I pictured Edward.
Yeah, that's why I loved Edward. He's a gentleman.I'm glad I'm not the only one who was expecting the old-timey prince on horseback!

Aww, oh no. That was my favorite part.Exactly! In the movie he spoke like...a 17 year old.
There was no "I was that boy" or "Look after my heart, I've left it with you"
Aww, oh no. That was my favorite part.
Robert Pattinson =/= Oldfashioned gentleman
Haven't seen the movie yet, and I'm not exactly running to the theatre to see it. Love the books, but this movie just seems like a disaster.
I just saw Twilight for the second time... it's awesome! I love CARLISLE. He came out and I was like 'OMG!' to my friend and she was like 'Will you get over it? He's 30!".I also love Jasper (who made my friend and I laugh hysterically with his random facial expressions) , Alice (I want to be best friends with her!
) and of course, Edward!

My friend and I had fun on the ride to the theater by making signs that said stuff like "Carlisle, Marry me! (and bite me too!)" and "EDWARD CULLEN BITE ME." and taking pictures with them. We played hangman (Carlisle Cullen bite me!) and I drew cartoons of the Cullens. But the best part was when I made a sign that said "HONK IF YOU LOVE EDWARD!" too bad the whole ride was on the highway, or we could have gotten some honks!
I justgot back from seeing it againThird time!!!
I know you guys were talking about how Edward talked like a teen and I agree.
He didn't say my favorite line :
"I love you. It's a poor excuse for what I am doing but it is still true."
And when Bella says she loves him in her sleep and then thats when he tells her she is his life... Catherin frigged up the quotes...GRRRR.
