went to TRU today to get spooky buddies (22.99) and dumbo (19.99) and pre order lion king and cars 2 - but was told that you can't use the 8.00 off (from lion king) and 10.00 off (from cars 2) them because they are already "on sale" despite the flyer saying ANY disney br/dvd 19.99 or higher...was told no by the cashier, the manager and then by someone one the phone with customer service - am waiting for clarification from corporate, but the lady on the phone said it was corporate policy....I think I'm done with TRU after this - it's been one thing after another lately at our store.

I stopped shopping at TRU stores a long time ago due to high prices and store "policies".

Just a thought, did you look at their website to see if it is an actual policy?

My TRUS in Northern Virginia let me purchase Dumbo for $19.99 and then pre-order Lion King and use the $8 off on my Dumbo purchase plus the DMR coupon. The manager did have to do an override but she said she is aware that their computers won't do it automatically but she was happy to give it to me.

She said the same thing happened last time for another Disney movie promo which I remember too (Toy Story or Snow White? I can't remember which).

Target and Best Buy's list price was $3 more than TRUs, so that's why I went to TRUs. If they wouldn't let me do the preorder than I would have just price matched at Walmart.

I can't find it written anywhere online or in the store about this policy - but according to both the manager and the customer service rep on the phone those who override and allow it are doing the wrong thing...:confused3

either way I am done - I am going to just price match at walmart and avoid TRU from now on.

Mine didn't come off automatically. The cashier had to manually do it. Maybe that's why (because it was already on sale?). I guess we'll see what happens when I go to buy Lion King with the Cars $10 off preorder.

Go to Target...they let you use the $5 off Spooky Buddies coupon on the reg. DVD (16.99) so it cam out to $11.99 :cool1:

There were a lot of stores confused about this too last year (and the customer service reps don't always know better either, lol)...I'm looking right at the card and it states (on both sides, just in case you miss it on one ;)) "$5 deposit and purchase of another Disney Blu-ray priced $19.99 or higher must be made in the same transaction by 10/3/2011." I picked up Spooky Buddies w/ the pre-order, and it came off, although it did bump the Spooky Buddies price back up to 29.99...the manager who came over to price adjust said they are aware of the problem and that it was the way the system works, something to do with how the store coupons usually have verbage about not being able to combine with other offers...and that I should be sure to double check the price when picking up the Lion King and pre-ordering Cars 2...
