I called the Concierge at thr RPC for trip planning assistance, after not receiving a form in the mail. "James" told me that they now do trip planning over the phone "because it seems to be easier and more efficient for our guests."

That sounds good, but what if I had not called. Would they have called me?!

Is this a change, or are they ad libbing?

We've been guests of concierge a couple of times over the past few years and I've never once received a pre-planning guide. I have always been contacted by a member of the concierge staff, approximately 45-60 days prior to my reservation date. Our last trip, I actually called them because I was panic stricken over the popularity of Cindy's royal breakfast and the 60 day calculator had already passed. I spoke with James, who was very helpful, saying that certain tables are set aside exclusively for concierge and they are available up to 7 days prior to the seating.

I do know that when I tried to follow up on Cirque tickets that I'd purchased, I had a terrible time getting through to a live person. I was told that they were understaffed and sometimes voice mail messages would wait up to 3 days before being returned. That hardly seems efficient to me and maybe they should reconsider these trip planning guides for all their concierge guests.
