I heard the early seating is 5:45pm. Does anyone know what the late seating is? When will DCL decide that is no longer a "trial"?

Thanks for the info. If anyone has cruised with these new times, tell me what you thought.

I heard they offer 5:45, 6:00, & 6:15 would also assume that they are offering 7:45, 8:00 & 8:15, but I have not seen that posted...

Yes, that is what your tickets will say when you get them but mostly it is just to try to spread people out so there isn't a rush at 6:00pm. We didn't make it right at 6:00 which is what our tickets said but they never said anything.

I questioned my TA about this and she said it was for the summer, but I thought I had read that it was now in effect. Nothing has been set in stone yet. I was asking about this for our 11/06 cruise. I wonder what it will be like on our 9/05 cruise.

Does this mean that there are people in each of the dining rooms with different seating times? I thought that the entire dining room would have the same seating time.

They are doing this to not have such a rush all at once. Better service and it should help the CM's not feel as rushed. Not sure how long this will be going on. It has been on a trial basis, but I thought I remembered reading this has been implemented. Not sure if it has been or not. I know it is for the summer at the least. My TA said it had not been put into effect as of yet.

:flower: Hi
Just got back from the Disney Wonder 3 day cruise and we had late seating for dinner which was 8:30......
worked out fine for us as we were traveling with no kids and they are running shows and things to accomadate all dinner seating times .......
shows ran at 6:30 for 8:30 dinner people......
We generally ate a late lunch and that held us over till dinner...
also we were to full as dinner did'nt get out most nights till 9:45 to indulge in the buffets...
hope this helps :earsgirl:

This could be a good thing for Tritons and Parrot Cay BUT Animators Palate is a different story. The room changeover (B&W to Color) and the music are a part of the dinning experience and the courses are / were supposed to arrive at specific times in the "show". How they gonna handle this:confused:

Hello All,
After checking our online resevations, I discovered our dinner seating was at 8:30. I had asked our TA (AAA) for th early show. At this time, our 2 year old is going to be falling asleep in her plate and I normally do not eat this late. I ask the TA to change this and she said she would. I called DCl myself and I am on a waiting list for early. I would love to get a 5:45 time. To me it would be confusing all the people coming and going at different times and trying to keep up with who is eating dessert and who is just getting started with dinner :earsboy:

The whole restaurant is seated at the same time. For example, on our 6/16 cruise, Parrot Cay seated at 8, Tritons at 8 15 and Animator Palate at 8:30. Just for an example...this was on our Sat. night dinner, but that is how it was done. We had wanted the 8:30 seating in order to play Bingo. But that turned out to be unneccasary because they just play Bingo faster now :) But the 8 pm dinner would have been pushing it for Bingo players.

This was our 5th Wonder cruise and I did not really notice any change in crowds with the time change. It may have thinned out the picture lines in the lobby area.

THANK YOU so much for answering this question! Noone else has ever reported back as to how they do this. I can see that it may help with congestion in the atrium for pictures with the characters but having people coming in for three seperate seating in the same dining room didn't make sense. Even when you aren't in AP the staff has special things they do almost every night with their parades. That would be hard to do if it wasn't all seated at the same time.

This makes even less sense for them doing this :confused3 ... I can see having some guests arriving at different times, to give the waite staff some relief in slammed all at once...

So every night your eating at a different time or am I missing something????

No, you will eat at the same time every night. Each rotation will start at a different time. I was APPT and we ate at 6.

Do a search for my user name and I posted how it worked for each time and rotation. I was on the 6/26 Wonder.

We had first seating and we dined at 6 every night. Some people dined at 5:45 and others at 6:15. The late seating was 8, 8:15, or 8:30.
You don't change times; it just spread folks out so the lines didn't get long.

From what I can tell from my Navigators, here's the breakdown as of 6/26.
5:45 was TAAP
6:00 was APPT (this was me)
6:15 was PTTA

8:00 was TAAP
8:15 was APPT
8:30 was PTTA

You eat at the same time each night. Here is how my seating worked on the 6/16 cruise. We had 8 15 seating. First night we ate at 8 15 in AP. 2nd night 8 15 at PC and 3rd night at 8 15 in Tritons.

Here is the schedule from our navigators

Thursday
Tritons 5 45 and 8 00
Animators 6 00 and 8 15
Parrot Cay 6 15 and 8 30

Friday
Animators 5 45 and 8 00
Parrot Cay 6 00 and 8 15
Tritons 6 15 and 8 30

Saturday
Parrot Cay 5 45 and 8 00
Tritons 6 00 and 8 15
Animators 6 15 and 8 30

Personally I did not notice any big change from when it was just 6 00 or 8 30 seatings. And this was our 5th cruise.

Add me to someone who doesnt want this done on the Magic.... What lines are reduced by doing this, getting pictures taken??? If everyone shows up at their assigned restraunt at the same time, isnt that really the same as before??? I dont get it...

I think it is an effort to help the congestion of the picture lines for the characters. I know that for early seating we couldn't get any pictures done before dinner due to the lines. We did leave the dining room before 8:30 though so could be in the front of those lines.

Thanks for all the info. I could never eat at 5:45 and was having a hard time with 6:00. 6:15 may be the perfect compromise with my parents who prefer early seating. I know 15 minutes doesn't seem like much but trust me it is!

We were on the Magic in August 2003 when the trial 5:30 seating was tested. It really stank, talk about being rushed at the sail away party. I don't want the 5:45 even though it is 15 minutes difference, usually that's the time it will take us to get ready for dinner.
