New to waitlisting- question

I currently have a 1 bedroom savanna view at Kidani for 5 nights. Another family is now going to join us on our trip. I called MS yesterday and they only had our last 2 nights available for a 2 bedroom. I did not take it. After talking with my friend today, we plan on her going ahead and booking a room at POR for the first 3 nights, then they can move over to AKV on day 4 and we'll do a split stay between the 1 and 2 bedrooms.

My questions are:

1. Can I waitlist for the first 3 nights, and pull the waitlist if it doesn't come through by my friend's final payment date? I will be using borrowed points so they won't get pulled into this UY until I get a match, right?

2. Lockoff vs. Dedicated- will they ask me about that? Obviously we'd rather the waitlist come through for all 5 nights. But if it doesn't, should I ask for a lockoff for the last 2? Any chance it would be the lockoff that attaches to the 1 bedroom we will have the first 3 nights, or would we have to move anyway?Because that would be really cool if we could get the lockoff that attaches to our 1 bedroom already.

3. Will Disney move a guest from POR to AKV? Or will she need to get a cab?

Before you do any of the items below be sure you have the above mentioned reservation for a 2 BR on the last two nights. Since you didn't take it, it might be gone now.

You can book a lockoff versus a dedicated, and request that your original 1 BR be part of the second reservation. Some CMs at MS will enter this request and others won't, just call back if you get one that won't add that request. I would also confirm this request at check in on your 1BR. There are no guarantees that this request will be approved.

3. Will Disney move a guest from POR to AKV? Or will she need to get a cab? Yes, you friend is staying on property and it is one of the services provided by Bell Services at WDW.

Thanks. I worried about taking the 2 bedroom right away when I called MS yesterday. But I hadn't confirmed with my friend, so I didn't want to take it if she really preferred to stay at POR the whole trip and not slum it with us over at Kidani ... I'll be on the phone with MS as soon as they open tomorrow! Wish me luck!

I called and did indeed get the last 2 nights as a lockoff- and request was noted for us to stay in the same room as the first 3 nights, if possible.

Now I checked online and I saw that they took the 2 nights additional points out of my VGC points instead of AKV. Will that be easy for them to fix with a phone call in the morning? I have plans for those VGC points...
