We are going on a "cheaper" trip by going to Universal. We have done a big trip every 3-4 years ( usually Disney), we went last year, but when I was looking for a simpler Vacation, Universal was as cheap as some other things I was looking at ( Vacations seemed to have gone through the roof!). I am saying this, as we will not have an unlimited pass...but will be staying at a value resort on site. we will be there May 28th-June 1st. Here's the questions...
Will we be in multi-hour long lines for everything because everyone else has a "Fast Pass" and we don't? Or (my hope) will it be an hour or less type lines?
I have 9 & 11 year old non-thill seekers, so we will be skipping the big 3 rollercoasters. - I'm still trying to talk them in to Hagrid's because mom wants to go.
For sit down meals can my 11 year get kids meals? She's 60 lbs and will never eat an adult plate, or can we split plates maybe? We were able to do both at Disney last year ( She was already 11), but she looks really young and I am not sure how's strict Universal is.
Backpacks.... Ok... so you can't bring them on rides, and only about 8-9 offer complimentary lockers for the ride. so do you skip them or get a locker to put it in.? Is it a pain to come back to it or even worth the effort to come back to it? My Daughter has a cross body bag, can that go on the ride?
Fanny Packs- bringing back my childhood here- how big can they be to not be asked to remove them? Is it just the little tiny (belt type) ones or can you actually uses it to put a couple of snacks in? I have seen this as an alternative to Backpacks or in addition to the locker.
Re-usable water bottles. I am confused on this one. where does it go? If I can't bring a backpack on a ride, how can I bring a water bottle? but EVERY site recommends them.
We have that lovely 1 hour early entry- is it better to run to Harry Potter then or wait and do it later, because everyone is running there?
Wands.... How to you keep them "safe" and put up if you don't have a backpack to keep them?
With us just now booking is there any chance we will get restaurant reservations? The site seems much less friendly than Disney.
Thank you for your help!
