i just found about this area....proud to say we are going to stay in a cabin ( knock on wood) for our january 2005 trip :)

wanted to say HI! and i look forward to posting in this section.....

i have one questions right now, do the cabins have central air/heat?

thanks i know thats probly a really dumb questions for florida, but i thought i would ask

Tina

Oh, yeah, you'll be able to 'chill' out!

No questions are dumb--but my answers might be!

Tina,
I'm new here too! I just got back from FW a week ago, and I'm already pestering hubby about a return trip in January 2005 also. The cabins are wondeful! We had a super time. Yes, they have heat and central air.

The cabins are more like manufactured homes. They are fully equiped, ac/heat and mousekeeping. Could you imagine staying in Fla in the summer heat and humidity without ac. No way.

I know you will love them and the resort is so tranquil and relaxing. We love just sitting on the deck and people watching.

How far in advance should you book a cabin?

I personally book the moment I decide we're going. Why wait? :sunny:

Welcome, Misty! The cabins are a wonderful place to come home to after a long day at the parks. Our family finds them to be a perfect place to breathe deep and unwind. Enjoy!:sunny:

IF it is a holiday or school vacation the farther in advance is the best.

to get a better rate i would book as early as possible whenever discount codes come out. In terms of getting a cabin we have booked one 3 days prior to our trip easter week 3 years ago and got one. We didnt get that good of a price but we got a cabin at the last minute

DH and I are outdoor enthusiasts and always visit FW during our trips. We usually stay in a deluxe resort - love the Poly and YC/BC. We would love to try the cabins - perhaps for a short trip.

Bike question - if we bring our own can we keep them in the cabin to avoid them being stolen?

another question - what type of pool is there? I loved River Country better than any of the "concrete" water parks they currently have, but as we all know...it's closed. What would be my pool option?

Can you park your car RIGHT at the cabin?

Thanks -

PamNC

Parking for the cabins is right at your cabin.

Pool at the cabin area is small and rectangular. Pool at the meadows is large and sort of a bent rectangle. No theming, sorry.

There is also a kiddie pool at the meadows area.

If you're staying in the cabins, is there a place to get ice?

the fridges at the cabins have icemakers built in...it was great...love them cabins..

Is there a place to see pictures or a floor layout of the cabins???

Thanks..

Wow...great link. Thanks. We're planning a stay in the cabins in 2005. I only stayed in the Wilderness homes once back in the early eighties.

Thanks again!
