Hello everyone. I'm new to the board and wanted to introduce myself. I've enjoyed reading all of your posts so far and hope to become an active member.

I'm 23 and live in Ohio.

My DF and I are getting married August of 2005 at the wedding pavilion. We're having an intimate wedding basically because we are short on cash. I'm a Disney fanatic and he loves me enough to go along with whatever I want.

Here's a question for you all. What should we do after the reception that won't cause us to go broke. We want to make the trip memorable for all of those willing to come. Any suggestions?

Thanks to all,

Jamie

Hi Jamie and welcome to the DIS and to this board :wave2:

Many congrats on your forthcoming marriage - how exciting :Pinkbounc

How many guests will you have ? Are you thinking of going for a meal somewhere ? What time are you getting married ?

We'll be having 12 guests. Going out to dinner would be nice. I'm not sure of the time of the wedding yet, but I'd like to do something with our guests in the evening.

Congrats! What you have planned sounds wonderful. I would suggest a dinner somewhere on Disney Property. To keep the cost down maybe you could go to a buffet. Afterwards you could could continue your party at the boardwalk. Entertainment there is inexpensive as you have Jellyrolls and Atlantic Dance hall which only charge around $5 admission. Or, if all your guests have UPH passes, you could go to Pleasure Island.

Since you are getting married at the wedding pavillion, your cake reception would be at the GF. Consider having your dinner there too. Good luck and keep us posted on all your plans!

Oh that's a good idea that Meranda had about having dinner at the GF. If you went to 1900 Park Fare you'd have the cinderella characters too which would be spppp cute and I bet they'd make a big fuss of you :)

Just wanted to add that I ate here for dinner the first time in December and I have to say it was one of the best buffet dinners I've had at Disney. I much prefer the food to Chef Mickeys although I do love the characters there - but I think I prefer breakfast.

The GF has great restaurants...Citricos might be another option, though it is a little more expensive, about $30-$40 a person easy.

You could always do a fireworks cruise w/ your guests...I think they launch from the GF, though I'm not too sure...I also don't remember how many people the boats hole, but I think it's about fifteen.

Keep us posted!

We took our guests to the Yachtsman Steakhouse after our intimate ceremony. There were VERY accomodating and the food was fantastic. We customized our menu and ordered the wine ahead of time, so that helped contain costs. I know a lot of our guests headed to the Boardwalk afterwards for more fun. It might be too far from the wedding pavilion for you though.

Good Luck!

How many people did you have for dinner? Do you know approx. how much it cost? We'd like to stay under 500 but still have a very nice meal.

Also, did you have ps reservations and could they accomodate your entire group?
