new to the board

Hello to all.I've only registered today and I,ve spent the last two hours reading through various post, enjoying most.
What I would really appreciate advice on is the following;
I am booked to go back again in Aug 08 with a party of 16. We originally booked to stay at POP(for the second time) but Travel City offered a free Disney Dining PLan if we upgraded our hotel.We accepted this and are now going to Port Orleans French.
1. Must I register for Group Gatherings by phone or is there an email address?
2. Must I pay deposits if the Dining Plan is free?
3. What info do I need to hand if registering by phone?
4. Is it expensive to phone Disney numbers, are they like our Premium rate calls?
5. Can Group Gathering agents book Disney Dining Shows?

I do have more questions but I'll save them for later.

I can help with this one. They will take credit card information and only charge if you don't show up and don't cancel before hand, otherwise you will pay using the DDP (Disney Dining Plan). We've done that several times for dinner shows.

I used this one in July says US 1p/min but it was 2p/min when I got the correct number, maybe other areas in US are 1p

Not sure Wayne, the Call Checker does update daily. I have an account with www.18185.co.uk at home and the office and use it for all daytime calls in UK which are 0p per minute with a 5p connection charge, so 5p for your call. USA is 1/2p per minute with 5p connection charge. Also cheap for calling mobiles.

in asnswer to your questions
to regester for a grand gatthering ring 407 9397526 think you can only register by phone and its not a priemum number
a CC depost (they dont charge just hold number incase you dont show)is required only for dinner shows and cindes they will ask you if on ddp but you will still have too give CC info incase you dont turn up for the ones that require a deposit you have to cancel thes 48 hours in advance
dont know the dinning number think its 407 WDW-DINE (numbers corispond with phone keypad)
As its a large party and in free dinning time frame would advise booking as soon as possible,you will be able to book 180 days+ 10 days out from the first night of your stay.
When contacting them tell them you are booked with a uk TA give them you booking referance number,if this dosent help they will tell you what to get from TCD
if planning on eating in diferrant partys give differant name for each as the computer will cancel as it looks like double booking

Thanks to all who replied,a more welcoming and friendly response I could not have hoped for.
Special thanks to PAULH for all his info, still find it dificult to believe that registering as a Group Gathering can only be done by phone, but if thats the only way, then so be it.
What are your oppinions of Disney Shows and Group Gatherings? which ones would you recomend?
