New to Gardening

Hello to everyone on the gardening board!

We moved into a house in April with a yard in poor shape. I don't think any work has been done in it for quite a long time. I've never had a yard before, so we decided to wait a year and see what's left over from the previous owners before we planted anything. That way we also get a better understanding of where the sun is, and how the water drains.

I've been browsing through these posts and I'm so excited that I've found this board! I would have never thought I'd find a gardening resource on the DIS site. Obviously, I just hadn't been looking for one.

Come fall we're going to start building some beds for an herb and veggie garden, I also want some ediable flowers as well. For now I just wanted to pop my nose in and say hello.

Welcome Kristen, the Dis is such a wonderful place. Great boards not just on Disney vacations, boards on gardening cooking, crafts and scrapping and lots of other interesting boards. Plus a wonderful community board. Pete has put together a great bunch of moderators and a wide range of topics. It my favorite place to visit on the web. We are glad you found the H&G Forum and hope you visit frequently.

Also H&G TV has some great shows on landscaping and gardening. I would watch a few before starting they are very helpful. Not to say were not, Snowwark is our Queen Bee and she knows her stuff. Ask a question and she's right there with an answer.

This is a wonderful board. Right now, we seem a little slower than we have been in the past but that is just because we are all out enjoying our gardens....and working in them too! LOL!
