New to DVC

Hello all. Well this weekend while in Disney me and my DH became DVC members. Our home is Old Key West. We are excited to be members now. We did the tour 3 years ago and took another one this trip and decided to join.

I do have a question now though. I tried to register online and it says to wait for my pin that will come in the mail. Am I not able to make reservations yet til I register online or can I call to do so?

Did you get a membership # while in Disney? If so, you can call MS and make a reservation. If you don't have a member #, you should be able to call Member Services with whatever documentation you have and they will help you, unless for some reason the paperwork hasn't been processed with the holiday weekend. You will have to wait until your pin arrives to register online.

I bought OKW resale in 2010, and stayed there for the first time last December. It is a wonderful place to have a home resort--not only is it a great place to stay, but also the rooms are so big, and the points so low!

However, you will also enjoy the ability book at other resorts as well!

As you can tell, we definitely get our use out of our Membership!

Addonitis is a serious issue among the DVC Membership, and if you find yourself thinking "If we only had more points, we could......." know you aren't alone!

Next time you go to WDW, make sure you go to Welcome Home Wednesday!! It is a lot of fun!

That is an extensive listing there. We are hoping to get our use out of ours. We went basic points... for now. LOL. We have been hearing such great things about OKW and how big the rooms are. When we were signing up we were looking at the pictures and were like WOW!

And thanks everyone for the big welcome. We can't wait to start booking and enjoying our home. =)
