New TO DVC

Hi All,
We are new to this list and have recently been put on the waitlist for Animal Kingdom. Has anyone else been put on the waitlist and know how long it will take?
Also the developer points for use at SSR, can they be used to book at a Disney Land hotel. Is there anything that I should ask my guide to make sure that I understand the entire process?

A wiatlist? No But I was told today that the only resort you may use your SSR points at is SSR, My rep told me that they are resort specific and must be used ther in the next 12 months, they cannot be banked.

I need points sooner than the May 2009 date for the new part of Animal Kingdom, so I waitlisted for some of the old stock. I think it is when someone does not pass the ROFR with Disney and they buy back the DVC memebership?
Has anyone been on that waitlist and how long did it take?
I know the developer points are only to be used at SSR, but outside Disney World I was wondering if I could use them at Disney Land. Has anyone done this.

Our rep said they have to be used in 12 months but he said we could use them in disneyland..

I believe when they first started with the developer points you could use them at resorts other than SSR. Now they are limiting them to use at SSR or Interval International, I received developer points in June and I may only use them at SSR or Interval International that is what my guide told me and how my contract is written with the points.

One reason you often get conflicting answers is that promotions change. What may have been true yesterday may not be true today. We were told that the developer points could only be used at SSR but that was a month ago.
