Hi everyone-after lurking here, and thinking about it for two years, we've taken the plunge and purchased 280 points at AKL villas! I'm excited we received the developer points as well and can't wait to book. One question, and I know that only ms can truly answer, but how good are my chances of getting a 1bd villa at BWV for 12 days in August? I'll know the definitive answer tomorrow after I call, but I'm so anxious to know if its a possibility. Thanks!

Do you mind sharing what your incentives were exactly and if you financed what your interest rate was? Also, how much is the cost per points now?

I know we received 160 developer points, that need to be used this year. Even though we just completed and signed the contract, our use year is October. We are financing through an equity loan, because that rate is cheaper than Disney's, but it was processed with Disney's rate, which is 6.75 We received a discount for having a referral from a current member, which knocked the AKV down to 96/point. Our guide was Chris Mansour. Let me know if you need additional info.

I think your chances are pretty good. Quite a few schools are starting back fairly early in August, and it's not like it's normally the busiest time of the year.

So do you get whatever number of points immediately plus another 160 points. Then you get more points in October?

I wrote the wrong interest rate-its 10.75, but our equity loan is around 6. We have access to all of our points 280, plus the 160 developer points. We have to use the developer points in 2008, or we lose them. The 280 we have now, and they must be used or banked in 2008, and we will receive another 280 October 1, 2008. Even though we just signed, and won't be closed for another month, the contract we signed gives us an October use year, as that is when they started this most recent promotion. Hope that helps!
