New to DVC - New to the Boards

I just got confirmation a few minutes ago our BLT purchase is confirmed! Closing documents have arrived and final paperwork is underway. Very excited.

Have listened to disunplugged since the old days, but just now joining the boards. SAHM of 2 who are now entering preschool and giving me a couple hours a day to indulge in my disney planning (husband calls it an obsession).

Anyway, we are planning on booking a split stay BLT and BCV (10 days - 5 and 5) for May as soon as our DVC comes through. My question is, is it best to use our booking window and book the whole thing at BLT, then switch some days to BCV at the seven month mark if they're available. Is there a disadvantage to doing this? Or, should we book only the days we definitely want at BLT and then book the BCV days at 7 months? What are the chances BCV will have no availability (1 bedroom) at the 7 month mark?

I hope I did the posting stuff correctly, as I'm new to this. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Congratulations. And to answer your question, you should book all 10 nights at BLT, then try to get the 5 you want at the 7-month window. Sounds like a great vacation. Best of luck!

Just be careful about your banking window. BLT is more points than BCV for most of their views, so I would hate to see you book at BLT and then lose those points if you switched to BCV. Congrats and welcome home!
