We bought SSR this April. We immediately banked our points, and now intend to use them for a 3 night stay in Sept.
We don't really want to buy an annual pass since we know our next trip will not be until Dec2009.
Is the Magic your Way w/Dining Special a good deal? Can you upgrade the base ticket?
We were thinking of trying AKV for this trip (our 10th anniversary). I have always wanted to stay at BWV but I am afraid of the long hallways.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to go about this, I would really appreciate it!
Thanks.
Jayne

You cannot "withdraw" your banked 2008 points, but you can borrow 2009 points. (You must use all of your banked 2008 points in 2009, though)

Since you are with DVC, you really do not buy packages in the same way as cash guests. You can buy any amount of MYW tickets while staying DVC, but I am not aware of any extra discount by combining tickets and DDP.

If you are thinking about the "free dining" promotion, it does not apply to stays on DVC points. To get "free dining" you must pay "rack rate" (full price) for a room + Park tickets. "Free dining" is mostly the cash room discount they used to offer during that slow month.

On DVC points, you can buy the Dining plan for all guests for the entire length of stay. The dining plan can be a good deal if you always use one table service dinner with desert. Now that gratuity and appetizer are excluded from DDP, you may find it possible to eat cheaper by using the few DVC dining % discounts and not eating table service every day.

I've heard that AKV has long hallways, too (AKV value and BWV standard view are both relatively close to entrance / exits but more difficult to find an opening due to the better points value)

you think the BWV hallways are long? Wait until you trek to a savanna room at AKV! But it's well worth the hike.

Don't let long hallways deter you from any DVC property -- they all have their own charm.

:cool1: Our use year starts Sept 1. We banked the points we were given in April, plus we get MORE in September. So we have 2 years of points starting Sept 1.
I really want to stay at Boardwalk, but I get really tired by the end of a magical day, and I don;t want to fall down on the way to my room.

Thanks everyone, you've been very helpful!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Wonder why we never hear about those long hallways! :goodvibes
Because we "sneaky" BWV owners want members to book at BCV - leaves more rooms at the BWV for those of us who love it there. :)

SSSSHHHHH! It's supposed to be a secret.

Actually, you may get a long walk back. But if you check out stairway exits when you get your room, you may find that if you can do stairs, you can avoid most of the problem.

Stay at the BWV! The location more than makes up for long hallways. And they really aren't that bad...

We were in a villa all the way at the end of the long hallway and absolutely loved it! We were literally on the end of the building. We had a huge balcony and a water view from a standard view room if you looked to the right! There were stairs right outside our door and they led to a sidewalk right across from the bus stop--convenience in a nutshell!
