We have done Disney several times however, we will be coming in October and plan to go to water parks if the weather allows.

Where can I find a list of items that can be brought into the water park? My little ones are very fair and I was hoping to bring/rent something that would provide some shade. Also, where could I find some pictures of the attractions/slides to see what my 4 and 7 year old might like?

Thanks!!!!

I'm not sure about a list of items to bring in, but I do know that shade is not common in either park. Get there early to try and snag prime real estate, or make sure you have hats, sunscreen, etc. As far as info on the parks, you could start here:

YouTube can be a good resource as far as "testing" rides, slides, etc. as well.

I agree- you can find almost any kind of ride on youtube. This has helped me many times in deciding if I want to ride a certain ride or not ;)

Thank you! Youtube - yes, helpful! However, while doing my research I have found that all of the slide names seem to be similar!! I can't tell them apart!!

Portable flotation devices - do water wings qualify? I will have a "young" 4 year old and would feel more comfortable in the chaos if she could wear water wings in the children's areas.

HI,
My children are all very pale w/ freckles. I always have them wear the rash guard shirts and then apply strong sunblock very regularly and they have always been fine.

As far as the water wings go, Disney will give you a life vest for free. DD6 can swim but I still have her wear it when she is on anything with deep water. I didn't find it necessary for her in the kiddie area because the water is very shallow, but there were plenty of kids with them on. I may be wrong, but I don't think water wings are allowed as I've never seen any being used there.

I haven't been to TL in years, but my kids love BB. DD was 5 on our last trip and had a blast. She enjoyed Tike's Peak which is the kiddie area for a little while but she much preferred The Ski Patrol Training Area which is designed for tweens. (This was DS9's favorite area too.) She also really enjoyed the family raft ride and the lazy river. She also went on a few of the larger water slides but it is exhausting carrying a double tube up a bunch of stairs w/ a younger child so mostly I did these w/ her older brother.

If I am not mistaken you cannot take floaties into either waterpark. My youngest daughter was 2 last year when we went and she was able to use the vest that you can get for free at the park. It works well and you can return it when you are finished with it. I would say lather up with sunscreen, make sure you reapply a lot, and have fun. Out of the 2 water parks I would lean towards Typhoon Lagoon for the little ones. They have a great kids play area for young ones and other than Humunga Cowabunga he should be able to get on all the other slides. I know that my "young" 5 year old did last year and my 2 year old stayed at the wave pool, rode the slides at the wave pool and played in katchakiddie kreek all day long.

mine are very fair--if the park is open later, and if I didn't want to be there are all, we would go around 4, provided rain wasn't imminent, when the sun's rays are not so bright.

Water wings are NOT allowed. There are lifeguards all over the place in the small child areas in both parks.
