New to Disney Cruising

We love the cruises! My mother and aunt have been on so many...ha ha ha! Be aware, it causes an addiction! But we always do the Verandah! There are typically two schools of philosophy on the verandah! Because its quite pricey a lot of people want to get use of what they pay for. So most people if they typically don't spend time sitting on it (so much to do on a cruise!!) they won't get it. Which is totally understandable! But I love it, just standing outside and having the vast big blue in front of you! I mean the ocean is your front yard basically! We usually watch the sunrise and leave the door open at night to let in the breeze and hear the ocean. My aunt is also super snazzy and she figures out what side the majority of ports are on so we get a room that will allow to give us the most Island/Port views when we dock etc which is nice. We also love the 7 days, get full dining rotations and more ports. Cast Away Cay is amazing, but I won't ever say I'm ever in desperation for two days of it, to be honest I love to travel and see more of the world. No matter how you play it you will have fun! Don't skip out on the theatre shows! They are amazing!

Ok so I thought I understood the tipping process but while trying to answer my parents Qs I got myself confused. HELP!!!!!!
We are taking 7 of us on a 4nite cruise, disneycruise website says per person per cruise so that would be $48/day $350 for the whole cruise, but travel agent said per person per day that totals out to $1350!! We aren't all 7 of us even taking that much for spending money.
We've been saving for 2yrs for this trip, my DH and I are paying for our family and treating my parents, we can't afford over $1000 for just tips! So which one is it for you experienced people. This worry is starting sour my excitement for trip sadly!

The gratuities are $12 per guest per night. For 7 of you that would be $84 per day. For a 4 night cruise that's $336 total. If your TA said $1350 he/she is incorrect.

That $12 per night breaks out to $4.00 per guest per night to your room host; $4.00 per guest per night to your dining room server; $3.00 per guest per night to your assistant server; and $1.00 per guest per night to your head server.
