Hi I am completely new to this! I have never been to Disney World and am taking my children for the first time soon... I am hoping there is someone out there who can recommend some awesome and fun dining/restaurants that also have Gluten Free options!
Please help!! I'm on Disney info overload :S
I also don't know what many of the acronyms mean :S and thanks!!! :)

Hi and welcome!!! Go to www.allergyfreemouse.com You will find TONS of information! Also, look at the disABILITIES thread on this site. Have no worries, eating GF at WDW is the easiest place you will ever eat! I feel "normal" when I'm there, and no one looks at you like  as you normally get when eating out! Good luck and don't worry!:flower3:

And I didn't give you any recommendations:eek:! I have had great GF meals in
EPCOT: Rose and Crown, Tokyo Dining, Sunshine Seasons
Magic Kingdom: Columbia Harbor House (great chicken fingers and fries)
Animal Kingdom: Flame Tree BBQ
Downtown Disney: Raglan Road

I have been GF for 2 trips and have 2 more planned this year....you'll do GREAT!!!!

If you are staying on disney property, let them know when you make your reservation or at least a month before the trip that you are eating GF. They will email you documents to fill out for all of your table service reservations to alert the kitchen that you will be ordering GF. When we went with my celiac son, all the restaurants were prepared when we were seated and at many of them the chef would come and speak to us. Some of the restaurants gave him a list of what was available and some of them simply asked him what he felt like eating and then did up custom plates. Everything was fresh and delicious. We were also provided with a document that gave GF info on almost every counter service and snack option. It was great to be able to plan ahead and know which counter service places had the best choices for him. All of the food service employees were knowledgeable about GF.

Do you still have that document? We're also going for the first time and my 7 year old has Celiac. We'll be in Magic Kingdom and downtown Disney. Can you tell me the GF options that were there? Thanks!

hi, we got back at the beginning of June from being on Disney cruise and then we stayed at Old Key West resort. I had been quite worried about being able to get GF food easily. I had read many different blog site which gave conflicting views.
Well all I can say is it was so easy to get GF food, even over the counter services.
My main delight was a Pizza Plant, were the make your gf pizza to order, it was big compared to the normal versions. So you don't get a dessert with it. It was delicious. The other thing I enjoyed was being able to have the deluxe burgers. The buns were lovely (quite unusual for GF bread).
The best desserts or can be snacks were the OMG Brownies or OMG cookies.
I used most of our snack credits to bring loads of these home.
Having advance booked our table meals, when we approach the desk in the restaurant and gave our name they knew there was someone in the party with a dietary problem. Every table meal the chef came out to see me. At the buffets he took me around and explained everything I could eat.
Hope you enjoy your visit. :)
