Hi everyone. I finally got off my but and registered to this site after many months of reading all the great post. Have been a long time camper and have been visiting the fort at least 5-6 times a year since we are so close. I may have spoke to a few of you on one of our many trips since we bought a new Outback 27 Loft model which gets everyones attention when we are there. We will be there July 15-19 and just booked a trip the first week of October. We hope to meet some great friends.:cool2:

Howdee Starbuc71! Glad you have joined in on the posting. You will enjoy contributing with the sharing of your experience and of course a little bit of humor. Have fun. So, what is it about the Fort that you love so much that you keep coming back? And tell us about your camping family.

Welcome to the boards. I've seen pictures of that model Outback before. Isn't the loft kind of like a sceened porch on the roof? Looks pretty cool...just add a cooler full of beer and a ceiling fan then your all set.

Welcome! And cool camper! I have a video of that trailer that we took at the Nashville RV show earlier this year, on my blog. We thought it was pretty neat!

Hope to see you at the Fort sometime!

Welcome!! If you've been reading on this board for some time, you know what a great group this is! With all of your camping experience, it looks like you'll have plenty of advice to offer. :yay:

Thanks guys, Originally being from NY, Florida in my opinion does not offer the true "wilderness" type camping like we are used to. The Fort is the closest thing to really camping in the woods in Florida. We live only about an hour or so away so it's a great thing.

No wilderness in Florida??? Have you ever camped in the Ocala National Forest??? There are some very stange creatures roaming free there. Or yea, the wildlife is kinda interesting too. :lmao:

WELCOME!!!! :banana::banana: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Seriously, the Northern woods and the Southern woods are truly different worlds. But, they all have their good points and their different points. Like the smell. Always thought the Northern woods smelled magnificent.

So what's your first memory of the Fort?

We will be there the 13 - 20 Hope to meet you guys. Will be at Oscar Sheer State park the 10 -13 :)

:welcome: to the camping forum. You're gonna like it here.:thumbsup2

omg, that's my "next on the list" dream camper - the picture is on my fridge! How much do you love it?

oh, and :welcome: ...to the DIS!

The outback is quite neat and different. There are a few things R&D could have done better before releasing it to the public. The main reason we got it was the incredible price. It had an MSRP of $34,000 and we walked away out the door for under $20,000. We actually heard because of the poor economy Keystone discontinued it for 2010. What a shame because they never gave it a chance. With a little tweaking on some poor designs, it could have been the ultimate unit. The loft is great for the kids, but no A/C up there :confused3
