New to Collecting/Trading

My husband went to our nearby Disney outlet last weekend and bought some pins for us to wear and trade. He bought our son a set of Buzz Lightyear/ Toy Story pins on a lanyard, he bought me a set of Mickey patriotic pins and lanyard that I've been eye-ing, and bought himself a plain lanyard and some different pins that he just liked.

My question is, do you usually keep the collectors' sets as one unit? Like, will no one want to trade with me because I have all patriotic Mickey pins? I'm sure CMs will trade with our son since he's only 5, even though his are all Toy Story.

I really feel that this depends on the person. If someone is collecting just to collect, they will probably want to keep them together. If you got a collection that has various characters, someone may just want the one character that they like. Or if they're like me, they just like what they like and collect accordingly.

The CMs however are obligated to trade with you. As long as they don't already have the pin and it's not a child's lanyard they are wearing, you'll be fine! Have fun!
