New to AP - room discount ??'s

I was wondering how far in advance due to they typically release room discounts and what is a common %. I am looking for the early part of December and over the marathon weekend in January. Are these typically black out periods for AP discounts? Are the Villa's ever included in the discounts?
I currently have a reservation for both times but like everyone else always hoping for bigger and better
