So, we are new to Airtran and know we have to pay baggage fees. We are only flying Airtran one direction so we will have $60 in additional charges (one checked bag for each of us).
Do I pay these fees in advance online (by somehow adding it to our reservation)? At the airport? Either, or? (and if so, is there an advantage or disadvantage one way or another?)
And is there tax on the baggage fees, or is it $20 each all-in?
I was kind of hoping that the price would go down from what we booked at by enough to cover the baggage fees, but since we purchased our tickets 2 weeks ago, the price has gone UP by over $100 pp
. Not complaining though........even with the baggage added in, fares were still far more affordable than on our beloved Jetblue.

I wish we could pay the baggage fee ahead of time on line and simplify the whole process, but did not see that option. Hoping we are able to still use the RAC service like we always have with JetBlue.
