OMG! I just had the BEST low carb treat!

I took 1/2 cup of Breyers Carb Smart vanilla ice cream and smashed up one Russell Stover Low Carb toffee square and sprinkled it on top. Yummmmmy!

(Be sure you are getting the Russell Stover LOW CARB, not sugar free, treats...the RED package.)

Hey Jackie, I have a question. What is the difference between the Lo Carb and the Sugar Free? I have tried both, they taste the same, and the packages look the same. Can you explain? Thanks.

I was telling nativetxn about a treat my son and I just love.

I made brownies from a recipe I got off the Low Carb Friends board. They were okay, nothing spectacular, only 2 carbs per slice.

Well, I put one crumbled in the bottom of a small cup, added a scoop of Vanilla Carb Smart and a dollop of whipped cream on top!! Wow! It was as good as any brownie sundae I'd ever had and it gave Michael a big smile, too!

Michael loves the RS candy also, but I cannot tolerate the sugar alcohols.

Jeanne, I haven't done a side-by-side ingredent check, but the sugar free ones do have more carbs. I assume the low carb ones have more sugar alcohol (which lower the 'net' carb count). Next time I'm at the store I'll take a look....or if I'm really ambitious I'll look for a Russell Stover web page. I'll report back, unless someone else responds to your question!

Went to the Russell Stover web site this AM. Couldn't find anywhere where ingredients were listed. It did say the low carb candies (8 varieties) were made with splenda and are available at the following retailers:
Walgreens
Rite Aid
Eckerd
Fred Meyer
Osco
WallMart
I've yet to see all 8 varities in any one store....like I've never seen the chocolate covered almonds, something I would surely want to try! And my nearest WallMart only had (lots) of sugar free but no low-carb, unless they were in a separate location.

I'm sometimes 'sensative' to the sugar alcohols and it's nice to be able to get a chocolate treat in a very small 'dosage';) . I can't eat more than half of a Pure De-Lite bar without consequences.
I know, TMI!

Jackie, the chocolate covered almonds are wonderful. I didn't see them at my local Wal-Mart, but I did find them at the Wal-Mart Super Center about 30 miles away.

Thanks for the info.
