Our new leather suite arrived yesterday - we ordered it in the January sales :)

Our lounge smells lovely now :)

Tim,

I'm thinking about a leather suite - where did you get yours from? I like the ones in Furniture Village I must admit. What's yours like?

Cheers

Karen

Karen,

We got ours from DFS. It's called Mikado if you look on the DFS website. We have had it in a dark brown :)

We have had our ivory leather suite a year now and I have no regrets. The conmfort and quality are great.:earsgirl: I also adore new carpet smell though we mostly have laminate floors these days.

Be careful with leather from DFS. A friend of mine ordered that leather "corner unit" one (you know the one they adverstised constantly on TV in the Jan sales??). She has had it barely a month and the stitching has come apart and its started to sag. DFS dont want to know and she is fuming. Im glad I found out, because we were very tempted with this offer.

Actually, I say "we" DH loathes the idea of a leather sofa, but Im in full "persuading" mode...or should that be "perleathering" mode. Hehehehehehe. I dont know why he is putting up a fight, he knows I will win eventually!

We have a lovely brown leather corner unit fron Harvey's, we love ours.

I've had a look Tim and it's very nice! Good choice. I mst admit I do like dark brown for leather sofas, I would almost certainly go for this colour myself.

This is the one I like http://www.furniturevillage.co.uk/site/products/sofas/leather/popup_azure.htm and they are doing a deal at the moment which incentivizes me a bit - mind you furniture shops always have some sort of deal don't they!

persuading" mode...or should that be "perleathering"
LOL

Looks nice Karen :)

We bought some selection of scatter cussions to go with the sofa yesterday from Dunelm - a mixture of leather, suede and fur :)

Allie - all leather stretched with time and use, you can't avoid it to some extent. The sales bloke in DFS was very good explained that the different styles and how much the leather would stretch on each style. Some of the suites were designed to give a 'baggy' effect. Some, like the Chesterfield styles were heavily padded and so won't stretch so much. We chose the one we did because, although it's fairly firm at the moment, it will give a little and the leather will wrinkle a bit. We got a free leather care kit as well, with the leather version of Oil of Olay to rub on to keep it supple (might try some on the DW LOL ).

The leather care kit from Ikea is great and a fraction of what other places charge for it.

All leather changes over time, Ours is fine we bought ours from Land Of Leather ,I wouldnt change it for the world, the comfort, etc is fantastic, I love the reclining feature, we have mongolian pillows on ours :)

ive had mine 81/2 years now if i had bought a matierial one all that time ago i would probably be on my 6th or 7 th one with my kids..
i got mine from ricemans in canterbury..
