Does anyone read these? Twenty Four just came out today. I have not read it, but why on earth is the kindle price for this author so high? I usually find books of this length to be about $4.99-$6.99. Her kindle books are about fifteen dollars.

Anyway, I would love for her to wind up with Ranger, but I don't see that happening. I may wait and get this one at the library.

I do read them.
$15 is about right for them when they first come out. I have so many books to read, I usually wait awhile and then they are less.

fifteen to twenty for a book yes, but I was talking about the kindle version. I have never paid so much for an e-book.

I don't own a Kindle. I think I would enjoy one, but I have noticed that when I buy [physical] books, the Kindle versions are nearly the same price for many of them. That made me assume the Kindle must be a convenience thing, not a money saving thing. (I know some of the price is for the intellectual property. However, it seems like the cost for printing, paper, binding, storage, postage, etc. ought to count for *something*. Whatever it is, it seems like the discount does not get passed on to the consumer.)

I do like the Stephanie Plum books, but they are getting quite repetitive. I'm sure I'll read this one, but I will likely wait till I can get it at the library because it's a read-once-and-done for me.

I agree. A friend introduced me to the series and I enjoyed the first couple. I tried reading one again several years later, and it annoyed me how she had to reintroduce all of the characters like we didn’t read the other books. It annoyed me so much I couldn’t finish. Quite the bummer because I do enjoy the author except for that.

Yeah, I read that series but get them from the library. It usually has a waitlist and i'm fine with that. I prefer to read in the kindle app but won't pay more than $10 for a digital book.

I would just like her to grow up.

I am pretty tired of the "I just don't know what to do." Honey, at some point, you have to actually make a decision.

True, but how many readers would she lose if she chose Ranger, vs how many would she lose if she chose Morelli? Readers keep coming to see what she decides -- would they stop reading once the suspense is over? Maybe they'd keep reading to see what car she's gonna wreck next. Grandma's outrageous antics get a bit over the top at times, but I do enjoy Stephanie's dad's reactions.

the ebooks are close in cost to the hard books....maybe $1 difference. (talking compared to Costco prices. That is where I buy books, if I actually buy them)

This is true. I think Ms. Evanovich has backed herself into a corner. There are firm Ranger fans and firm Morelli fans. If Stephanie chooses, one group will revolt. Instead she keeps resurrecting the same old story line and she never makes a choice.

I bought the new one, and it was ok. I guess that after 24 books, they all seem the same to me. They are getting to repetitive, so I guess this will be the lastone for me. I dont' think they will resolve the Ranger/Morelli thing either, so this will go on, and on and on.........................

Omg she still hasn’t chosen???

I enjoyed the first 15 or so books in that series but got bored with the same storylines and recycled characters.

I really like her writing and humor though. The first and only time I have laughed outloud reading to myself was during the first book with Grandma and the gun. I wish she would would write another series like the Plum ones.

I have it on hold at the library- they called today to say it is in- I have to go tomorrow to get it.

I'm rooting for Ranger, too. Though I do love Bob, and I imagine Bob only comes with Morelli. I haven't read the last couple but I do enjoy the series even though it is repetitive. They are actually best in audiobook form.. the reader is great and she is really engaging. It's what my husband and I listen to on long trips that we can both agree on :)

I've read them all so far and own the books but we are on vacation right now so I won't get the new one until the weekend.

Yep - I like the stories but there are so many mistakes. Sometimes Stephanie's mom is ELLEN and sometimes HELEN. Sometimes Ranger works on the 3 rd floor of his building, sometimes it's the 5 th floor. Lula met Hal for the first time when she had already gone out with him in the past. Ranger was 5'10" and morelli 6' and then Ranger was 6'. Joe and Stephanie talked about getting engaged for the "first time" when they had talked about it before.

It seems like someone else wrote some of the books and really hadn't read the previous books.

Sadly, it might be time to retire this series.

I received mine yesterday from Amazon, I can't wait to read it. I usually wait a bit because I'm sad when I'm done and have to wait another year for another book.

I have read them all, some twice!!
