Yes, I saw that announcement. It looks so awesome! Although members of some "that other site" (you know which one I'm talking about ) are already disappointed in the ride because of the 30 sec. trailer that shows ONE part of the ride is going to involve "pod racing".

I am SO excited that I get to go to DL before they update the ride, and that I now have an excuse to go back!

I was in the session at D23 in which new things for the Parks and cruise line were revealed. This Star Tours announcement was part of it. They gave us all 3D glasses when we entered and after the announcement, we were all shown a sneak peak. I don't know why people may be upset about pod racing being included, but people in the arena today went crazy with excitement when the clip was shown.

again... i hate the fact that they brought in pod racing. They took the worst scene from the worst movie and are using it to upgrade a classic ride. This makes me hate Lucas even more.

Yeah! I had seen this predicted on Mice Age but it is exciting to see it official. DLR will be the place to be for the next few years at least! I've been wishing for this for years!

While the speeder-bike chase would be really cool,flying the Star Speeder 3000 through the forest would be a little tough. All those trees getting in the way.

I agree 100 percent. They pretty much screwed up the Star Wars franchise with all those extra movies. It should have been left at the original 3.

I agree with Eagle that the three recent SW flicks were short of the first three and that Empire was the best of the lot.

However, the ST ride is very dated. I think it is the right move to update it based on the more recent movies to connect better with the younger crowd that Disney hopes will be customers for the next 50 years.

I really do not see why everyone is so against podracing. IMO that was an exciting part of the recent trilogy. And George Lucas (one step below God ) apparently has lots of creative control on this project.

Oh cool!!!! I am excited!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait. I'm a big Star Wars fan, love them all and while Empire was the best we loved the "first" 3 as well. Woo hoo for podracing!!

Thanks for the article link! I'll be hoping the "physical changes to the ride" make it less "rough." When it first came out it gave me a stress fracture to my arm, and I haven't wanted to go on it since!
