We are going to Fort wilderness from March 28 through April 4 and this morning the discounts for room and packages hit. I was able to get 25% off of my room only discount! I am using complementary tickets instead of buying passes.

I called first thing this morning and they were able to apply it. I hope everybody gets a great discount from this.

Man I woke up an hour late! I was expecting them to drop tomorrow :`) At least the difference wasn't deep or anything

Edit: I wound up calling them after fighting the website off an on…. It went fine. Discount applied! The difference pays for a fancy dinner ;)

This is my first trip in 10 years and it's a Disney dream trip for me. Even though there's only two of us in our party, myself and my son, we're renting the cabins that sleep six. When I first booked that my rack rate was $749 and I was hoping and praying it would go down and then it went down to 664 with 25% off. So I was doing a serious happy dance and thanking God.

I'm curious of the math 749 to 664 since it's not 25% off. Is the 664 after the discount, plus all the taxes?

Because of the time that I had to be on the phone to pick up this discount and then I had to get straight to work, I didn't have much time to do the math. They did take 25% off of the room and that reduced some of the tax but the way Disney combines the room and the tax not just for the room but for everything else in your package, it's very difficult for me to figure it out. But it's less. It's significantly less than it had been. I saved about $1152 plus I'll be getting 400 back from using the Disney visa. So I'm not complaining. But I do wish that they gave a better breakdown. And I did find out that you don't pay 6.5% tax at Disney. It's closer to 12.5 because of some other kind of tax that's required. But I can't seem to make the numbers come out right and I guess I'm just too tired. But hey, I'm going to Disney.🙂

So I broke down the numbers just now:

When I booked originally room, deluxe dining plan and tax were $5866.34. I added on travel insurance for 190 bringing me to a total of $6056.34.

today when they applied the discount my package total for the same room at Fort wilderness for six days was $4557.46 for the room, dining and tax and $190 for the travel insurance with a grand total of $4747.46 and if my math is right that was a discount of $1308.88 which is a total percentage decrease of 21.62%. But again, Disney has very weird math.

Math gives me a headache.
