My family and I have been going to WDW every year since I was 3 (and I'm currently 23) and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on how to make the trip a little different. We tend to go every year in January because all of the Kids are in college/grad school and to run the hall marathon. This past year I got the impression that my dad was just over the whole thing and ready to start a new tradition (while his 3 kids all in their 20s are not). We usually go for a week and do the typical park thing. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make this trip a little different? I was thinking maybe planning in a no park day in the middle of our trip where the guys can golf and girls can spa then we all head down to Disney Springs after to shop and eat. Essentially I'm hoping for any suggestions that make the trip feel a little different without sacrificing too much park time (aka more than a day or two). We would be going in December or January this next year. Thanks for the help!

You could possibly try going to Universal Studios one day. I know it's not Disney but it is different. If you're all in your 20's you could try the Drinking Around the World in EPCOT if that's something you partake in. I enjoy just exploring the different resorts. Walking around the Boardwalk is one of my favorite things to do.

There are tons of ways to make each trip different from the one before! You may have tried some of these but here is our list:

**Stay at a different resort each time. We all have a favorite but trying different resorts gives a different "feel" to the trip.
**Splurge on a tour or special experience. There are tons to chose from!
** Go at a different time of year. WDW in the fall is completely different from WDW in January (December will be different too with all of the Christmas stuff)
**Try a new dining experience. Since you are all adults, maybe try Victoria and Alberts; or one of the many special options like afternoon tea, Dine with an Imagineer, Savor the Savanna, etc.
**Maybe hit a water park (if you go when they are open)
**Watch Wishes (or Illuminations) from a fireworks cruise
**Make a Character Scavenger Hunt or Play Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom
**Go on the newest ride or the newest activity.... WDW is always adding new experiences
**Focus on one park you may have neglected in previous trips. We had always rushed through EPCOT thinking it wasn't "all that" until one year this was our Feature Park and we really took the time to fully explore everything we could and now EPCOT is our second favorite!

Another mistake we use to make when traveling with my parents was trying to do EVERYTHING together. Now I make two different touring plans -- one for my husband, kids, and me (who are park commandos!) and one for my parents (who like to sleep in and take a more leisurely approach to things)

I'm sure there are many more ways to spice up a trip, hopefully this will get your creative ideas flowing!!! Either way... HAVE FUN!!!
