Is Disney revamping Spider-Man now that they've acquired Marvel? I was reading online about them recasting the movie and I was just wondering whatever happened to Toby McGuire? I've really enjoyed the cast of the most recent Spider-Man movies and wonder why they're doing new ones already. Isn't it usually years between remakes? Or is this supposed to be another sequel to the most recent Spider-Man movies? I'd much rather have them completely re-do the whole thing than try and recast a major role but keep everyone else.

Columbia/Sony Pictures still has the rights to the Spider-Man film franchise. I don't know how involved Disney is allowed to be.

But as of January, they were rebooting the series. No more Sam Raimi or Tobey Maguire.

Well, Sony has a certain amount of time to continue to produce Spider-Man movies. If they don't hit a certain release date (the rumor is sometime in 2011) the rights to the franchise would fall back to Marvel and ultimately Disney. I'm not sure how much creative control they have in any of the franchises Marvel has in the works right now. I'm sure they have some say being the parent company. They could just sit back as they did with Iron Man 2 and watch the money roll in. You will see more Marvel merch in the Disney stores. Eventually, they will most likely go after the rights to all these films. Current contracts will have to expire.

It'll be a continuation of the story, not a "remake" of one of the movies that was already done. Tobey Maguire wasn't interested in continuing without Sam Raimi as director, word on the street has it. The new kid they've casted has the Peter Parker look; it'll be interesting to see if he's as good an actor.

Currently it is very difficult to gauge the fact for there are so many news rumours coming for it. One says hero is changing other says it is yet to get final node.

Spider-Man will be re-booted in 2012 featuring an all new cast and story.

It started filming a few days ago.

The movie will be released by Sony/Columbia Pictures, as they still have the rights to the Spider-Man movies. Once their contract runs out, Spider-Man will likely continue with this cast, only over at Disney.

I have watched every part of this movie series. watching this movie is like dream comes true. There were so many exciting and mind blasting scenes in the movie which fascinated me towards itself.

As per my knowledge, some websites are claiming to have the inside word on what villains will be included in Spider-Man 3. FreezeDriedMovies claims that The Lizard, Carnage, and Black Cat will be featured in the upcoming fourth film. I have watched all three movies in the series and they were all good.

Spider Man movie is great movie in the world to entertainment in the science life.I have seen in theatre about 10 times. All about the science film is taken by marvel but these movie has been taken by the Sony.

well exactly this movie is mind blowing guys.. i amazed with effects they used in this..

This reboot is actually a lower budget version based on the "Ultimate Spiderman" series which is a sort of alternate universe imagining. From what I've seen so far it looks awful ,more Twilight than Spiderman. The new costume is hideous, As a Spidey fan since Day 1 I am extremely discouraged.

The whole new cast is very good, I like it and andrew garfield looks very nice in spiderman suit. But I really missed Tobey Maguire.
