None of my characters got one. If it's asking you for any information (login, birthday, etc) it could be a scam. VMK will NEVER E-mail you to ask for your info.

any one can copy and paste that.

There are a couple of red flags:

They are asking that you respond to the email with you first and last nameI do not think VMK would ever do this since it totally violates their personal info policy.

If this was truly a VMK contest they would announce this on the VMK Homepage and ask that entries be submitted via Contact us.

Also I have 25 characters that I play regularaly and NOT one of them has received an email like this

It seems that the email can not be forwarded.

If it cannot be forwarded, that's an indication that they are trying to hide the header information. We've encountered some of those here on base. I concur with those here: This is not legitimate, do not respond! Send it to your spam folder!

I got that message too, but I do not see anything about Sparrow Costumes. From what I understand this is a pirate role playing game similar to VMK. I registered for email updates so that is probably the reason for the email.

This is so a scam. First off why would VMK need to ask for your name when they could just look it up with your disney information? Also even if this were true VMK would not post your real name if anything they would post your VMK title.

Tickets are already sold out, but we were able to obtain four (4) which we are willing to give out to that many lucky winners!! You're probably wondering- "Well, whats the catch to getting these tickets?!" Participants have to create the best, most creative pirate-styled room in all of VMK, take a picture of it and attach it to a response to this email, where it will be judged by all the staff! Good luck and may the best room win!

Trouble taking a picture of your room?
Here are a few easy steps in order to take an onscreen picture of your room:
1. Pull up your room, completely finished and the way you want us to see it.
2. Hold down Ctrl + PrtScn
3. Open up the program Art, or any other picture designing program.
4. Click on Edit, and find paste.
5. Then, using the crop tool, shorten down the picture to just your room.
6. Ta-da! You now have a picture of your room!

Gosh, I love the stupid nature of the scam. If they are going to spell
premiere as premire, they deserve to be laughed at. And I loved
that they forgot an important step about taking a screen shot. They didn't
mention saving the file as a .jpg.

Of course, if you really want to punch holes in the logic, VMK could easily
have a menu function in the Contact Us section of the newsletter. When
VMK held a contest the first Halloween about writing your own graveyard
epitaph, they asked players to submit the entry through the Contact Us link
on the VMK home page.

People who take this much effort into trying to scam others really are clueless
wonders.
