We booked our flight for WDW back in April $79 each way Hartford to Orlando. Now Hartford to Orlando is $49. I called Song as I have always done in the past to get a voucher for the difference and it now costs $25 to reissue the ticket. I tried to argue with them but apparently it is a new policy? Anyone else have this same problem?? I ended up with a $5 voucher.

That was the policy last Feb. when I changed a flight so I'm not sure how new it is.

I needed to change flights in March/April and they had this policy then.

That's why I like Southwest, no change fee!

That's been the policy for quite awhile now. Back in '03 I changed to take advantage of the much lower price and it cost me $25 per ticket and ended up saving me $30 per ticket. But, I still like flying Song the best. If it's not a big change in fare, I don't even bother now. Has to be at least a $50 change.

Unless your dates are really popular, it is better to wait for a fare war rather than buy at their everyday low price.

It's the principle of the thing. Airlines like to sell lots of tickets early. The traveling public needs to put up a front and not buy so soon until airlines resume the policy of price matching themselves without a re-issue fee.

For Delta and Song the everyday low price is class "U" and the fare war price is class "T".

When in 2003? My fares went down a couple of times that year (for the same itinerary) and I was never charged for those changes. Now, when the fare went down something like $90 IF I changed my flight by several hours, there was a charge for that change - still a bargain, though. Anyway, I did this three times during the summer for a November trip.
