New Shareholders club rules

Yes, providing you've held minimum of 5 shares before October 2005 and

a) You've had continuous membership of the shareholders club

b) You can demonstrate that you've continuously held the shares (ie you didn't sell them and later repurchase).

Iain

My card states that i have been a member since 03-05 but i know there was a period where i did not bother to renew - however my shares are pure registered with SOCGEN so I have never needed to send them proof that i owned the shares in the first place- assume that are able to check the register and see that i have owend them since before oct 2005

Suppose only way of telling is when I come to renew in may next year!

I sent an email to the shareholders club to ask if I need to purchase anymore shares to remain in the club. They replied

"Your current card is valid to July 31 2014, and you meet the terms and conditions because you joined in March 2005, so you do n ot need to hold 100 shares"

So it seems length of membership is a factor in not having to buy 100 shares :-)

We do enjoy SM but not enough to buy more shares of a stock that I have lost so much on.

I think we will just save the $$ and use it on buying some fun snacks while in the park. I will always be a bit jealous that we won't be going into SM anymore.

Can I keep going in until my card expires?

Yes you can as you remain a member until then

HI

I am still confused about the number of shares required to join the Shareholder Club. I have seen quite a few references on this site to now needing a minimum of 100 shares to be eligible to join ( previously 20). However, I have just looked on the Shareholder site and it says you need 500 shares to become a member. To confuse things even further, later in the statement it says for members with 199 shares or less will need to pay a fee of €30. I did not see anywhere where it states 100 shares.

Can someone clarify this please before I purchase any more shares (currently have 23)

Thanks
G

As Elaine has said you now need to own a minimum of 100 Euro Disney S.C.A. shares to join, the Shareholders Club, exempt if you were a member of the Shareholders Club since before October 1st, 2005 and have had an unbroken ownership of five or more shares.

The General Conditions of the Shareholders Club can be found here.

You used to need 500 shares to join but that was about eight years ago, in around 2006 before the company implemented a 100:1 share consolidation in 2007.

Just got an email about the new rules being implemented as of 2nd January:

The shareholders Club of Euro Disney S.C.A. is intended to provide a quality service and relevant information on the Company in order to better meet the needs of their members.
We are pleased to announce the implementation of the new « General Conditions of Euro Disney S.C.A. Shareholders Club » effective on Thursday, January 2nd, 2014. We invite you to consult the attached document for additional information.

Any shareholder who would like to become a member or to renew its membership to the Shareholders Club, has to hold a minimum of 100 Euro Disney S.C.A. shares (ISIN code: FR0010540740) in a bearer or a registered form. Are exempt from this requirement, the shareholders who meet one of the following situations:

• Being members of the Shareholders Club since a date earlier than October 1st, 2005 and holding a minimum of five (5) Euro Disney S.C.A. shares on the date of the latest renewal.

• Justifying at the time of their membership request to the Shareholders Club, unbroken detention of a minimum of five (5) Euro Disney S.C.A. shares since a date earlier than October 1st, 2005.

Please note:

Regardless of the number of shares you hold, you will continue to benefit from the Shareholders Club discount and offers, upon presentation of a valid membership card.

You can then request a renewal of your membership, as outlined in the General Conditions of the Shareholders Club on January 2nd, 2014.

I see they have changed the rules slightly, a little annoyed as I bought extra shares to get the 100 as the original plan I would have met the excemption as the cut off was going to be year 2000, under the 2005 excemption I would have. Oh well they are bought now:rolleyes:

Can you tell me if being a Shareholder provides any benefits when attending Disney World?

no, Eurodisney SCA is a different company from the Disney World company, so Eurodisney SCA shareholders get no benefits at Disney World.

Sorry, yet another question. I assume 100 shares is the minimum and I will still have to pay the ¬30 fee? How much do you need to invest to be exempt from paying the ¬30 fee every two years?

Cheers

you no longer have to pay any fee to renew your shareholders club membership , as long as you have a minimum of 100 shares.
